Howdy everyone! I’m here because I’m making a newsletter for another site, and one of our members wrote an article on the Virtual Boy. I was wondering if anyone could direct me to where to find the Virtual Boy font that I suspect your logo was made with. I’d like to use it for the title of his article.

Thanks, and this site is very well designed. Very pretty.

Just looks like a generic sans to me. Just try fonts like Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, etc. (depending on your system) until you find one that’s suitable.

I decided to use this for some signs at work =P

Well, no-one seems to be interested in this anymore, but here is a practically complete version of the font. I’ll fix reported bugs if possible, and if there are any type designers/experts out there, I’ll definitely listen to any tips/tricks/hints/commentary/suggestions.

I technically own the copyright, but I really don’t care what’s done with it (although an anti-VB hate site would be in seriously poor taste :-P). …a small gratuity would be a nice gesture, if you can spare it. 😉

Very awesome, very cool! I was going to use this for a PCB design soon 🙂 I could send you $1 for each PCB sold if that works?

Thanks for the kind words, segasonicfan!

I was really hoping to use the Virtual Boy font as well on HyperFlash but unfortunately gray shades don’t work for partial updates and fonts. I tried just a binary black/white version but it didn’t translate well.

Before I made that one, KR155E made a low-res pixel version for the grey title bars at the top of pages, and it was a pretty good likeness, given the limitations. Maybe he still has it kicking around…
I’ve been wanting to add hints for smaller sizes since I made it, but I haven’t found a good, free font editor that supports that in an intuitive way (plus, it’s a lot of work!)

Here’s that font. Made from the VIRTUAL BOY logo on the official adjustment screen. Most likely too large for the HyperFlash display, but I’ll post it here anyway, and be it only for archival purposes. 😉
