So today I got a VB that has a weird display issue. The best I could describe it is that the screen is off center vertically.

An example would be that when I play Red Alarm, the bottom bar of the screen with all your scores and other info are for some reason showing on the top of the display.

Any insight into this problem would be greatly appreciated!

Can you make a picture of it? Shouldn’t be too hard in a dark room. I think it is some kind of a mirror glitch which is “normal” for a glitchy display. But please make a pic of it and place it here.

Here are some examples of my issue.

And here is how the screen title screen should look.

Difficult to say for sure, but I recon it is due to the infamous glitchy display issue.

Normally this is when I would get to work on getting the ribbons repaired. But the previous owner attempted to “repair them”.

As far as I can tell they tried the bake method as there was tape on the ribbons and then they tried to “solder” it by melting the plastic over the copper and made a nice hole on one ribbon making it unfixable. So now one display is completely dead. The other side has the vertical scrolling issue.

At this point I just wanted to make sure that everything else works on the unit and am looking for some replacement parts.
