Since I am a member in AtariAge, as I also collect and play Lynx, I just came across this. It is quite amazing, since the Lynx is far from being compatible to PAL or NTSC.

A member there finally made a VGA TV mod, that looks like to be released within the community in a short time. Don´t know yet if it is available as a complete system to do it yourself or as a readymade kit.

Have a look:

How about having that for the VB too? Anyone interested here? I think with a spare unit and a few days tinkering this fellow might be able to do it for the VB too….

Just a thought.

first overclocking and now tv-out, you really do not like the VB for what it is? =P

i enjoy using my vb the way it was designed. if i wanted to play it on a big tv i would use emulation, an hdmi cable, and a vb controller usb conversion kit.

i’m sure some may be interested in this idea. so i will leave it to them to reply with different responses.

I think playing on a tv would have helped the virtual boy when it was first released. Having other people see what you are playing would get them more interested in the games ect…

You can play VB on the TV easily via the Wii emulator, sure it’s not 3D, but not many have 3D TVs these days yet.

We should not forget that grabbing images directly from the display would be fantastic in terms of recording gameplay. I certainly would love a way to create pixel perfect (stereo) videos for the site!

Personally I favor the chance to have a modified VB to play it on a TV. Especially, when i have the chance to OC it too for some games.

I don´t understand the resistance of some members here on the forum to accomplish such things. Fans of other consoles do all sorts of stuff with GG, Lynx, whathaveya. It just makes me sad….
