Just exploring the Nintendo eShop and the feasibility/desire to see Virtual Boy titles re-released.

Hey ResidentSteve Good article, However I would like to correct you and say that the VB does’nt make your head exsplode actually when adjusted properly you head will exsplode from True 3d depth enjoyment far before you will ever get any pain from the system.
Secondly

“WE’RE FANS FOR A REASON”

Try the system you may be surprised

Oh and be sure you read this

Haha, the Head Exploding was all in jest, but of course I’m sure everyone’s aware of the Virtual Boy – headache connection. I’m sure there’s as much truth in it as the 3DS headache link.

I’d love to play a Virtual Boy properly and may hunt one down after Christmas – I’ve usually got an eye on ebay anyway. My only playtime with the machine was on Mario’s Tennis which seemed alright, but I’d love to play Wario Land or Mario Clash.

I’d love to see the games more readily available again and hopefuly Nintendo will re-release them on the eShop – hopefully this came across in the article!

No joke – my head exploded back in the late 90’s due to playimg my VB, had to get it reattached!

The president of Nintendo of America has stated that he will not be revisiting Virtual Boy games ever because it was something Nintendo wishes to leave in the past.

Yeah… because of Nintendo of America’s mentality to completely disown the Virtual Boy, I don’t think the VB community ever has to worry about them coming after us due to releasing unreleased VB games.

If the Virtual Boy is to receive a true revival, it looks like it would have to come from Nintendo of Japan.

I also think Nintendo will never care about unreleased games coming out because they probably choose to believe the games never existed.

It’s odd how there is a steady stream of comments from Nintendo about leaving the Virtual Boy in the past yet in many games, the Virtual Boy makes a cameo.

For example, the Super Smash Bros. games. I believe it was Melee that had a Virtual Boy resting with other Nintendo consoles in the trophy room. A more recent example would be Kirby’s Dream Collection, where a brief synopsis on the Virtual Boy is given.

I’d assume if they wanted to truly leave it in the past, they wouldn’t throw cameos of it into first-party games. Part of me thinks that they want to hold onto it for a historical reason, but at the same time, they seem to contradict themselves in this manner.

That being said, I wouldn’t completely throw the possibility of Virtual Boy games making it to the 3DS; however, I’d say the possibility is slim. If any move to the Virtual Boy, it will probably be just Mario Clash and Mario Tennis. That’s my opinion, at least.
