I may be given the source code for a prototype game from a game developer I have connections with, and I was wondering if there was anything I can actually do with it.

if you had a working vue debugger setup, compile it and play it on reality boy or the flashboy and/or examine the source to learn how vb games are written.
but in any case, make a backup of the source! (preferably on my hard drive ;))
