I thought it was Jack Bros, but I guess no. I’m talking US and JP…
maybe Space Invaders: Virtual Collection or Virtual Bowling?

Hyper Fighting. 😉

Virtual Bowling definitely the rarest officially released VB game. No need to argue about it. 😉

Space Invaders actually comes in at 4th. The top 4 rarest commercially released Virtual Boy games, in this order, are:

1. Virtual Bowling
2. Virtual Lab
3. SD Gundam Dimension War
4. Space Invaders: Virtual Collection

I think virtual lab might be rarer then bowling…

Just an opinion thou

There always seems to be a few copies of Virtual Lab available on Amazon Japan, though, which isn’t the case with Virtual Bowling, which is one of the reasons why I place Virtual Bowling above Virtual Lab.

Although they’re both pretty damn rare and command the highest prices by at least a few hundred dollars from 3rd on the list.

Which is a real shame too as Virtual Bowling is fun.

Of those 4, Virtual Bowling is the only one truly worth owning, based on gameplay. It’s really well done – better than Nestor’s. Gundam is an incredibly boring game. It’s so easy, you have to make an effort to lose. VLab is a Tetris knockoff that looks like a high school project (which is probably an insult to high-schoolers, who could certainly create something more professional than this), and SI is just SI with a 3D background.

It’s no surprise Nintendo USA didn’t bother with these titles.

Where does US Jack Bros. fit in?

I’d estimate that US Jack Bros. probably comes in at #5, just barely edging out Insmouse no Yakata. It’s definitely the rarest US release, but I don’t really have any raw numbers to back this up.

I think the higher price it tends to command has a lot to do with its ties to the Shin Megami Tensei series, which has picked up a lot of interest in the last few years.

That would make sense. Hopefully one day I would be able to get my hands on a copy! I really need to start expanding my collection more..

Did I Quote that right? Some reason I feel I did not. Most likely, sorry about the error.

You can pretty much put any Japan only released games as the rarest game on the VB.

Not really, V-Tetris and Vertical Force are still available in sealed cases. Others like Mario’s Tennis, Teleroboxer, Red Alarm, Panic Bomber and the like are very inexpensive. Wario Land is an odd exception where the Japanese version is more expensive than the US version.
