So I was looking threw some old gaming magazines and saw that someone had send in this image that was in the magazine
I started to wonder why Mario has never been in a FPS game
After all he was in rpg, car racing, puzzle, childrens learning game, side scroller, shmup game…
Yes in one of the mario gameboy games I think 1 level where he is shooting things in space could be considered a shmup game
So like I said why not FPS game?

Well, there was Yoshi’s Safari on snes, where you play as Mario riding on Yoshi’s back in first person shooting stuff with the super scope bazooka πŸ™‚

FPS games tend to be more mature/violent in nature and mario has always been a kid-friendly/innocent mascot. It wouldn’t make sense after all those years of jumping on heads and fireballs to give mario a bazooka to fight bowser.

Yes well Mario could still do 1st person FPS but use fireballs and shells instead of guns

It doesn’t work for the type of thing that Mario is.

You could always count this…

A gun you cant use, erm

Mario= 😯
FPS= πŸ˜‰
Mario+FPS= 😑 😑 😯 >:(

Yeah well i dont care about that Mario has to have little violence just so some 12 year old can play it

If you are 12 then go back to Nes/Snes/Gameboy, many Mario games there that came out before you where born

I’m 12, but i really enjoy retro games. I just don’t like mario. Ok, platformers for SNES, NES, GB and N64 were perfect, Atari 2600 one too, but now when i see Mario is n=in a game- just don’t buy it.

Oh wow so you have chosen to miss out on Mario Galaxy & Mario Kart, to name a few, fair enough its all personal choice but i’d say at least give them a go, rent them or play at a buddys place.
Personally i can’t stand football (soccer) at all, playing watching, even hearing it on a radio, but when my buddys were playing fifa or something like that i had to give it a go, sure i still don’t like it but I had to try in case i was missing out on a fun game experience with my friends, which i now know I am not. You could be (and are IMHO) missing out on a great racing game that is so much fun with friends and/or online. And if you liked N64 Mario you have to at least give Galaxy a go.
Just my thoughts, discard at your leisure.

It is good to hear of one so young enjoying retro, Spectrum was a top machine, had many lost hours programming & gaming on that back in the day…..chuckie egg, attic attack, knightlore, pyjamarama, good stuff.

Yeah. I’m 15, yet I started programming on a Spectrum, a 48K.

I don’t like Galaxy, but i must say that MArio Kart is fun and challenging. I like also play this new SSB on Wii, because Sonic can finally kick Mario’s ASS!

Oh yes, Spectre is my fav computer.
