Virtual League Baseball is painfully difficult and irritating to play. The pitching mechanics are woefully underdeveloped, and the incredible AI of the opposing team’s fielders makes it difficult to win a single game. Notably, the game is only playable against the CPU, so it ends up being an absolutely joyless experience. This is one of those games that I sincerely doubt most people have ever won a single match playing. It is not worth revisiting at all. Games like Virtual League Baseball gave the general public a very poor impression of the console. The music is bad, the visuals are ugly, and there is no reason to buy this one unless you’re a die-hard collector who needs it all. Thankfully, it’s probably the cheapest game on the console.
I appreciate how Kemco produced enough VLB carts to wrap around the planet, so homebrew developers have found a legitimately hilarious use of the carts that house this game. The connector on the carts is much more valuable than Virtual League Baseball.
