Ryoji Ikeda is a Japanese experimental visual and sound artist whose music is concerned primarily with sound in a variety of “raw” states, such as sine tones and noise, often using frequencies at the edges of the range of human hearing.

One of his earliest works, from the album “1000 fragments”, was used in the Japanese Virtual Boy commercial.
