Videa games! I mean sure I've got a lot of good friends to hang out with, and work and whatnot, but mostly all my free time is spent gaming.
Ok LONG story short.
I bout a VB near when the were first released, and I was definitely a good deal younger (I’m 23 now; 24 the end of this month.) Anyways the thing worked PERFECT, I loved that thing! After a few years I ended up trading it into a used game store for some extra $$$, honestly thinking I really wouldn’t miss it all. That was the last game/console/system/whatever that I have ever traded in since.
About a year ago a local used game store happened to have one the owner couldn’t seem to get rid of, so he dropped the price, and I dropped the cash. I worked great for a bit, but then I noticed lines going across the screen. I found this site, did the “oven” cure technique, and it ran perfect after that for a good week or so.
Each time it malfunctioned, it got worse and worse. I’m sure my repeated taking it apart (AGAIN) and sticking pieces in the oven every other day didn’t help.
So the other day I figured it was pretty much done for anyways, so I had a little look inside (that is, I basically took EVERYTHING out/apart) just to see it I could get any idea what the problem was…AT ALL. Needless to say is pretty much beyond FUBAR.
However I can put a game it, start it up and hear the sound perfectly, and I can see the mirrors vibrating/spinning like they should (at least I think…), but I simply get NO display whatsoever. That’s the main concern I have now, if it even IS repairable anymore. Also while holding to unit to more/remove/take apart items on the top/underside or whatever, I fear I may have misaligned one of the mirrors (don’t recall which one off-hand) from the other. I appears basically as it one is at slightly more/less of an angle than the other.
I was about to try “fixing” that slight problem, but fortunately I decided to store everything up, and just walked away…
