SUPER POTATO! that’s the shop name I couldn’t remember!
It makes sense that “big Four” has been term for a while. I think they will remain the big four since as the prices of other games rise, so will they. Maybe they will Become “The Japanese Big Four” as the US Jack Bros and Waterworld Climb in price (I also feel Vertical Force US is due for a Price Jump).
I know its a long shot to find those games even out there in shops, but its also the best chance to get them at decent prices. She speaks a little Japanese, but is with two friends who speak it as their second and first languages respectively.
Pipe dream that anything will come of it really, but there is always hope (and its a lot more likely then finding it at a retro game shop out here at ANY price).
Wow, I love reading your updates, puts it all in perspective. I was thinking the same thing about the number of Repros passing the number of US releases. Dead system my ass. Can’t wait to score my FB Proto too. And the upcoming English repros are gonna be GREAT!
Where do you keep getting these Baseball Carts?
what specific Battery size does Gundam take?
If you own more then one (lucky you!) mark more then one; but if you own the Floor display with the Counter feet just mark Floor Display (unless you own two entire units).
Also, Is there any way to modify the Poll after posting? I Made it half a month too long and I also wanted to ad “Display Sign” as an option for people who only have the sign from the display.
This may sound like a dumb question, but have you checked eBay? I ask because I KNOW i have seen at least two CIB power supplies pass through there since this was posted first.
Do you have the “Performance” AC adapter already or are you looking to just complete the “two Tone” VB collection (all official US goods that came in the blue/red boxes).
Thios may sound odd, But I’d keep a look out for the floor display. They seem to appear with greater frequency then the counter display and they can be converted into the counter display, since they are the same thing only with longer legs. Just a thought.

Yeah. What I’m REALLY hoping for though is a friend hitting up shops in Japan (Akihabra, or whatever the otaku district is called) and finding me some.
She is out there right now, and plans on hitting some retro game shops come Wednesday. I Sent her pics and Instructions regarding those three games. I told her that even if she finds duplicates she can get up to four games at or below that price each since I can always sell a duplicate and share any profit with her. I also told her that if she sees any of them below 9,000¥ loose that I’d be down (something else I doubt will actually happen).
Unfortunately I seriously doubt she will find them below 34,000 ¥, if at all. Any suggestions on where to roam specifically to find VB games out there (specifically the big four)?
“The Big Four”; Is that a term people use? Can we start using it? Its fairly intuitive as far as its meaning in the context of the VB.

Cool. What about the Big four? What sort of prices are those fetching out there (Lab, bowling, Gundam, Invaders)?
5000 yen is very expansief for one in japan in osaka or akihabra you will find them allot cheaper
I have buy my old space squash for about 2000 yen in osaka it whas a bran new one
I realized the misspell after I left the house. I do that all the time with that word. silly really.
Sorry for “Spamming” your post. Since you’re selling similar items to what I’m looking for I figured there might be a chance you would have other goods that meet my needs, and that it would be ok to reach out in the manor I did to both you and any other readers who are currently parting out VBs that were checking your post. no harm intended.
I’m looking for a full stand and Visor on the Cheep right now if anyone has any leads.

Dude, thank you so much; but Since posting this I’m back to my original Strength. In the past two months I’ve Scored the five “cheep but rare” games again; Fishing, Squash, Insmouse, Jack Bros (jp) and Water World.
Right now I need three of the Big four, But I need them for under $350 each: Gundam, Bowling (JP), and Lab.
When It comes to Space Invaders I have the cart, but I DO need the Box and Instructions If anyone out there knows where to score those on a budget.
Thanks again though.
OH, I need a CIB copy of Vertical Force (US). Aside from Jack Bros. (which I have in Japanese) its the only US game I’m missing.

I know that I can get you a copy of Space Squash for 5000 yen including shipping if you’re interested. local used bookstore here in Japan has it. I’m happy to purchase and ship it to you.Edit: It’s the Japanese version, in box.
Yeah, I’d rather there not be a “fake” Mario Tennis box out there. That being said I’m totally down for US boxes of Japanese only games (can’t wait to see the Gundam translated Box; don’t forget the extra Bandai logos!)

I’ll keep it in consideration. But likely no. I’d hate to muddy any waters with fake real boxes! But I could consider some kind of alternate box art for it. Maybe a site wide art competition for a designed version different than the original display box. Totally unique.
The Advice that VB-Fan shared really does sum up the best approach if your just into the VB for gaming (as opposed to collecting). The Flash Boy + is all you need.
However if you want to get a few games just to have (with or without box) just for rapid changing in between games The best advice I can offer is Japanese games. A lot of the Japanese versions of US games are cheaper but still in English for the most part (not Baseball, Panic bomber or Jack Bros, but the bulk of the rest).
That, and game lots on ebay. When your just starting its easy and fun to just pick an auction with like, 5 or 6 games in it; most likely all ones you don’t have (except Tennis. That is always in there and everyone has it) and paying under $80 for them.
Hey, Disk Tusk or someone ever make a Box for the Flashboy?
Also, I would LOVE a Flash Boy + that could fit more then one game (the ++). Perhaps roughly enough room for… 22 games? haha. But I can only imagine that is requested every other time someone opens their mouth on the subject of the FB+ and I’m just grateful That I finally got to try and fail at Gundam.

So I’m gonna buy a copy of BLOX after all. How many copies did you end up shipping today for the first wave?
Anyways, the payment system on your site won’t let me enter anything for shipping so I can’t complete the order. was that the issue before?
So, other then finally figuring out how/why/what of the password mystery was there anything else of interest in the code/on the cart? Unused Graphics or sound? ACTUAL music? Cryptic notes from the mentally unstable programmers?
…And Apparently I’m a moron since I’ve already read the tread AND even posted in it.
Wow, I have now medium-term memory (that exists, right?)

AAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! Kill it with fire! Or Plasmids (its a Big Daddy combined with a Little sister, right?)

I know you were all waiting with baited breath for an update here; well, I got Insmouse and Squash and Fishing, so I’m back to full strength (except for Virtual Lab, But I can wait on that one).
