Yes, welcome! This seems to be a troll-free gaming forum, which can be hard to find :).
If you’re looking for a good activity, you should read through some of the older forum posts in the various sections. I did that when I joined up and it was fun to read old stories of prototypes being found, game ROMs being released, hardware being hacked, etc.
That actually does sound fun, especially for a Wario game or maybe Panic Bomber…wouldn’t recommend Red Alarm though hah.
I was wondering one time if you could play a game (maybe not on VB) where both people can see the display- one holds the right side of the controller to jump and hit the ‘fire’ button and the other controls the D-pad.
1- that hat’s description sounds familiar, I remember that joke. This was a while ago though, looks like nobody fell for his sales pitch…
2- regarding that buckle keychain, $500 is crazy man! Rarity-wise, I’m sure it’s less common than Virtual Bowling (maybe heh). But when you stop and think about what it is you’re buying, no way. You could pay Vista Print like $20 TOPS and get something nearly identical.
3- That vest is at least more substantial and does seem somewhat VB-focused with the colors as Benjamin said.
Reminds me of why I stopped collecting Hot Wheels, too many people charging $10+ each for rusty, scratched 3-wheeled cars because they’re convinced all old-ish items like that are priceless.
Still, they have a right to list whatever price they want :-p
Not sold

I have had some luck cinching a zip tie around the legs, just under the medallion. Open the legs to the proper position and close the tie just enough to fit around them. If you try to open the legs further, the zip tie pushes into the medallion and keeps everything in place. Use a black one and cut the “tail” off when you’re done, nobody will even notice it

A little over 1 hour to beat the previous owner’s time record on VB Wario Land.
That was pretty funny to me, not sure why :p
I’ve played for about 4 hours straight trying to beat Bound High, and about the same on a legendary run in Galactic Pinball.
I fell asleep testing a Nester’s Funky Bowling I found on eBay after work last week…I remember waking up periodically and trying to bowl but it was all gutter. That was about 8 hours I guess.
I must be going to the wrong lawn sales! Was it just the console and controller? I’ve never seen ANY VB product in the wild except for overpriced games at local stores
An AC adapter would be best, I’ve never bothered with battery packs but I think they die after 4-6 hours of play. If nobody here has one, you can sometimes get one for $15-20 on eBay. Keep in mind the AC adapter is actually an SNES adapter and the VB specific attachment.
That is a shame, yes. Treating the VB unit itself like a “lot” where each individual piece will be sold off. Why is that one $55 anyway? I hope that’s a typo, his other ones are 25 as far as I remember.
What I hate is when stands and visors are listed for $50-100 each. I know it’s a free market, but damn…

anyways, i’m more posting this here because i read some recent threads from users looking for spare cables to solder. they often pop-up on ebay from this seller.
Haha, I’ve heard that about the “ok” sign for South America as well.
And yes, any F-off gesture is usually more amusing than insulting. It just means the other guy is having a worse day than you
Regarding this flyer…it appears that one of the images in the Doc-Aetzn Marketplace post has a similar one where she’s holding 2 fingers. Must be the 2nd page if we assume she’s in fact counting.
“I got yer full color display right here!”
I looked it up online and it seems that pointing with the middle finger is also a common thing worldwide. “Giving the middle finger” seems to be in debate, some places take it as an insult like in the US but others don’t. Counting or pointing to the VB seem like the bestt options to me
Great point- I’ve certainly been talked into a lower selling price from a buyer if they seem nice. I’ve also been able to get a good deal by gently persuading a seller to be reasonable :). As a buyer, what happened was I bid X dollars after we agreed on a price, then they ended the auction early- making me the winning bidder.
I second that idea about adjusting the cables in the sockets. When mine had a similar issue post-soldering, that fix worked. If it hasn’t for you, I’ve also heard on this forum somewhere about making sure there isn’t a little grit from your fingertips on the cable itself, since that may affect the integrity of its connection.
Also, I believe I had an issue one time where one of the copper pieces in the cable bent out of place when I put the ribbon into its socket. Maybe check to make sure all the copper leads in the ribbon cable are properly in place and actually going in?
Last thought, one of the cables I’ve soldered needed to be touched up a little while later, even though they looked fine. Perhaps there was a tiny region with a bad joint…I hope this helps!
Lol…

Don’t worry, I’ve already emailed him asking if a shrinkwrapped Mario’s Tennis is available too.
That’s good news! Welcome to this site and to retro gaming as well.
Search through this forum and you can find some posts about various users’ recommended games. I would recommend a FlashBoy Plus so you can play ROMs of even the rarest games whenever you want
I love Sliders! Another lost classic from 1995 :). Good point though, you may get stuck in VB success world if not careful.
Another good point about canceling the VB so soon. I had typed a response earlier which was lost when my browser crashed -.- but what I had said was that the VB’s demise reminds me of a TV show that is canned after 13 episodes and lukewarm ratings. The best example is Seinfeld, which I think was struggling to find an audience until 2-3 seasons in. If they hadn’t persisted through the growing pains of gaining popularity, the show would now be forgotten and probably scoffed at for being so unusual.
So much time and money had been sunk into the VB for development, what’s another “little bit” (millions) to promote it and at least recoup some more losses? Better yet, maybe if the red and black limped into 1998 with adequate sales, they could make an offer to send our VB unit with $50 to Nintendo so they could install full color LED displays and return the units to us with a copy of the new Bound High sequel or something.
Also, that is rather strange about the 3rd party support. I’ve heard the 3DO was ruined to some extent because they licensed to ANY third party developer…which led to many poor quality games. Maybe Nintendo could have found a happy medium between those extremes
That’s pretty nice- is it an official store display or some custom thing?
I’m not sure what units the price is in, but it sounds expensive…
Just got a DC not long ago, haven’t yet spent much time playing it.
I believe this is the one, and it looks like maybe the Craigslist pics show some of the other cabinets in the video.
I saw that video a while ago and thought it was great. Can’t remember if I stumbled across it or was linked to it from here.
That laser disc says V13 on it, wasn’t the YouTube link somebody else posted recently Volume 11? Assume V13 is volume 13, maybe this one has some “newer” VB games on it or at least actual gameplay. And some sweet 90s haircuts.
Wow, a video posted by MasterOfPuppets has a shameless Metallica ripoff song about 10:20 in :p. Or so I think.
Anyway, I’ve never seen this before! Really good video, yet I can’t help but notice the lack of actual gameplay footage Nintendo added. There was an interview with Shigeru Miyamoto on Nintendo’s site (I think…) where he made a comment that marketing VB more as a novelty/toy than a next-gen 32 bit gaming powerhouse would have been much better. Watching this video in early ’95 or whatever would probably have given many people inflated expectations for the system.
On a positive note, how great to see the prototype model with multicolored buttons in action!
Good call on buying direct from Atlus by the way! I bought a replacement manual for their N64 Snowboard Kids on ebay, the seller says he bought out the company’s stock when they folded or something. Naturally I asked about Jack Bros but he had nothin’…
