Anyone else have a cool display for their Virtual Boy collection?

I thought of making a display shelf thing for my VB cartridges… imagine a flat piece of plywood-ish wood, with strips of wood on it sort of, making it a grid (red of course and the big plate being black) I’d make the squares be big enough to hold one VB game and basically so I could have all carts there. But I need to get the wood, not sure how to make the strips, I’m not a carpenter and I’m sure the wood would break and get uneven and stuff. Plus I’d have to lean the thing against the wall or something, if it’s perfectly flat on a wall I’m sure the games would fall out.

So it’s a good idea with problems and with a high probability of never seeing the light of day. A normal thing when it comes to me.

If one goes from what’s on ebay, it’s 300$ for Space Invaders and 800-1000 for Virtual Lab…

No E-Reader? I’ve always wanted one with all the Super Mario Bros 3 level cards…

Really, SD Gundam? I couldn’t play that for 30 minutes even.

Anyway, my record would go to Wario Land, when I beat it the first time, I probably played for 3-4 hours or so, at least 1 of which being on the final boss.

i’m surprised how expensive that was to produce in your country. i can find t-shirts for as low as .99 USD here and a pack of printable iron-on transfers for under $5.

This is much better made than an iron-on would be though.

Although iron-on paper is not that cheap either, plus you need a color printed of course. I did one of those once.

Whoa…

I thought they wouldn’t have the Virtual Boy in their index thing, and therefore wouldn’t trade those in…

Cool though.

Oh I know, hundreds IS a fair price.

I just know that me personally, I’m never going to own the Big Four unless I get rich or something. Maaaaybe Space Invaders as it is the cheapest of the four but never those that are like 700-1200 dollars. That’s like my rent.

I’m guessing you want hundreds of dollars for it, so I’m out

I laughed at one of the kids there yelling out “It’s all in red!” positively…

And they flat out lied when they said it “envelops your field of vision”. I wish it did.

Still, that light table introduction was friggin epic!

Oh and the office guy looked like Bob Zemeckis.

It should have a Halo Anniversary thing, where you could switch between color and RED with the press of a button…

I will never make it because I don’t have the patience to even get all the stars in every level. The same thing went for Super Mario 3D Land, where I gave up at special world 7 somewhere.

I’m fine with stopping after the credits, everything else after that is a bonus to me.

Awesome 😀

So….. does this open the door for Virtual Boy games on 3DS 😛 ?

I bought mine cart only for 45 dollars so that much for it in box was pretty good I’d say.

Great video Roli, and funny too.

Now in real life, how does your wife view your gaming?

I haven’t tried either but I think they’re pretty cool ideas, especially with the head tracking. I wonder if it covers your field of vision as to put you in the game or just look at a screen like the Virtual Boy.

The best thing about the Sony Morpheus is that the Move is compatible. Let the rip-off technologies come together! I kid, but seriously, a Star Wars game where I am a Jedi is still something I want. Kinect isn’t good enough to handle that, I’d prefer some buttons anyway.

Oculus Rift has a lot of potential too, as it’s going to be open-source? Or at least somewhat like that. Like how the best uses of Kinect 1 wasn’t official games but applications made by regular people.

Danke schön, Thunderstuck.

Nobody else cares, eh?

And now on GoNintendo too

http://www.gonintendo.com/s/224109-random-time-mario-combat-a-homebrew-virtual-boy-game

I guess Mario Combat is the star of the competition.

I couldn’t get farther than 11.

You know what would be a nice touch? Having Mario running away from you at the right side of the screen. It would be like those stages with the bridges where cheep cheeps fly out everywhere.

I got Chalvo 55 to work (without sound). Felt nice to play that on a VB 🙂

Super Mario Land worked with sound but the framerate went downward as the stages went on.

Mega Man 2 didn’t work at all.

And for some reason, only on the first try did the injection work, all other times no matter what roms of what size, the file always became 4 MB, which is too big.
