You guys got me so excited! I could not have gotten a job at a better time so I can help support you guys how I can.

I’m happy to post mine once I get some newer pictures of my room. Maybe later on today. It’s a bit messy since I’ve got a bunch of stuff out from redecorating for the holidays.

I hope I’m wrong, but I think this project is dead.

I’ve been thinking the same 🙁

i’m not surprised myself, this is a very mature community.

Agreed. We all tend to be very respectful of one another and wishes of those developing the games. One of the reasons I love this community so much.

VB controller USB adapter housing design completed. Ordering the first prototypes now. Likely to be a spin but fingers crossed. 🙂

Looking good!

It’s partially to avoid copyright issues as it is an unofficial port of a Capcom game (If I recall correctly). Distributing it would bring a bunch of problems for those involved and it would wind up like every other fan game, with a C&D, etc.

I also think it’s the choice of the devs and people involved in the project since it’s something they all poured money and time into making. They made a demo available for people wanting to give it a go.

I kid I kid, and I get it. For me it just takes away the experience of the amazing 3D graphics that the lasers trick us into 🙂 but I get it for the purposes of development and testing on a computer!

Oh I agree. Nothing will ever beat playing the real thing. I made a USB controller for emulating purposes but I think this would be better so no controllers need to be sacrificed.

You’re looks great how you did it and it makes sense to have a Virtual Girl if there is a Virtual Boy. If this system hadn’t tanked who knows maybe they would have made a pink one for people or a case to swap on! Seems like it would be pretty easy once taken apart, but I better like it as no one will want to buy a jacked up green VB unit!

It was pretty easy to do. The only thing that kept me from finishing sooner was the virtual girl logo was constantly being delayed by the printer.

Here’s my old build thread:

Welcome! I think I saw you post on Facebook. Your collection looks familiar 🙂

Thank you thank you! I have seen your posts on the Facebook page as well. You’re probably the only one with a custom pink Virtual Girl! That’s creative!

Ill likely end up selling my second unit but if I don’t I wouldn’t mind a like green one that’s my favorite color 🙂

That would be me with the Virtual Girl lol. If you do wind up painting it, I wanna see pics! I love seeing customs.

why would you want to play the VB on your PC? Just play your VB on your VB!

To me I see it as not everyone can afford some of the games or has a Flash Boy to play them. This is also makes it easier for people to use emulation to capture clear footage of games without needing a bunch of equipment.

Welcome to the forum and the community! I think you’re in good hands here. A lot of use enjoy the retro aspect of gaming. Most of my gaming is on a retro system of some sort while my new consoles collect dust. Speaking of collections, you got a pretty sweet setup there!

I gotta agree with Speedyink, the VB community is by far the most welcoming, kind, and generous gaming community I’ve been a part of.

BTW do I sense a Pokemon fan? If so, I’m a bit of a Pokemaniac, myself *high five*

I know the artist that made that image it’s Adam Rufino and he actually sells it as a poster.

Here’s his artwork page on Behance:

You can buy it as a print, or t-shirt from society 6:

He does others too if you fancied a series. Hope it helps!

Do you know if he would do that image as a shirt? I’ve been looking for a VB shirt to wear to cons and in my videos and his image is gorgeous.

Sign me up, Kevin! I am stoked for this!

Welcome! I think I saw you post on Facebook. Your collection looks familiar 🙂

Ah ok thanks Kevin! I wasn’t 100% sure on which one of the awesome dudes here it belonged to.

I’m still stumped as to why it’s not letting me map the A and B buttons. I’m gonna try it on my PC and see if it’s isolated to my Mac only. I’ve done everything according to DogP’s writeup. I’m gonna blame my Mac or OpenEmu

Pretty much what everyone else said. Seeing just how much work goes into assembling them, makes me appreciate mine even more 🙂

Unfortunate to hear. Thank you for offering to help though.

Thanks for the suggestions! I recently bought Quarth, and that one is really fun and addictive for such a simple concept.

Great! So glad you wound up liking the game. I really love the music on the Game Boy version vs the NES/Famicom ones.

Don’t worry if you missed them. They continue to cycle through and there will always be free plays per day. I got these a while ago. Don’t worry 🙂

I love the badges lol

That is so exciting, Kevin! 😀
