ive had this one for ages but it had occasional issues with sd cards not too long after i got it which was at the time resolvable by wiping the sd card and reloading it but this seems to have only gotten worse with time, it doesnt seem to load the screen properly anymore regardless of if theres an sd card in it, the pc software still detects it normally and detects button inputs so its not dead, but its also not behaving right and the combination of sd card and screen issue make it unusable

found it… not sure who decided to put it together with pogo pins, but they have apparently been developing high resistance on the contact points over the years, cause i removed the screws, pried it apart far enough to see this design choice, then put it right back together suspecting it might have now fixed itself, which yes it did

Wow, thanks so much for the fix! I’ve been trying out strange little woo woo magic tricks to fix mine, listed out on a post-it note stuck to the cart.

New note:

“ acting funny? Screen not displaying? Not properly loading ROMs? Remove screws and put back in.”

I also have lots of problems with my HF32 cart (screen not working, loading ROMs not working,..). Perhaps I also should try this!

Sure! To be clear, all my problems have gone away since.

interesting, didnt know this was a wider issue, mine started doing it within a month or two of getting it as part of the original batches but from the feedback at the time i just chalked it up to the finickiness with sd cards it was reported to have, wasnt until much later when the issue got far worse that i started suspecting i had a defect but i had too much going on at the time to do anything about it and mostly forgot about it. worth noting that the red channel on the display for mine isnt working right now, i may need to try reseating it again as i didnt realize the screen was also connected this way
