It occurred to me after asking someone else if they were planning on making something for the Virtual Fall event that… well, I don’t know who’s planning anything for the Virtual Fall event. So hey, if you’re thinking of making a submission, pipe up so we know who all is in the race!

Although, um… think twice about giving out details of what you’re working on. Not just because people might incorporate your ideas into their own projects, but frankly I’d like to not know what’s coming through the pipe. It’ll just be BOOM! January 1st, and a bunch of new homebrews to try!

I’ll go first! Naturally, I’ll be making a submission. It will be a game, and it will be a demo for the devkitV810 and libvue projects I’m working with dasi on. While the devkit and library aren’t secret, my project still is. (-:

Just a word of warning, I don’t let up. I want everyone to put their best effort into their projects, ’cause I’m going to with mine and I’ve done this before. (-:

I am hoping to have something for the contest as well. My time is pretty limited though so I doubt I’ll be in the running for a finalist

I hope to find time to create a little demo as well. Just for fun. 🙂

I can’t offer anything coding wise, but time permitting I would be happy to do some writing for a project. If someone needs a brief intro story or some dialogue, PM me.

I have written many reviews, done some creative writing (currently working on a book), and was responsible for the GCW Zero press release and their recent PAX e-mail.

I hope this competition brings many new experiences beyond demos, and equally hope that any demos are further developed into complete experiences.

I will have something ready by Dec. 31 (hopefully) I began work on it just now and cleared a major hurdle/problem I had with it. I will keep it a secret until I submit it. I doubt anyone will make a game like it, though.

If at all, I might submit one of my tools I’ve already in development. Work keeps me to busy right now to even think about starting on a game or demo.

Hope you all finnish them too,

its sad to look so much awesome homebrew unfinished, like mario kart : (

I will try to get my project in, however I am new with programming and my time is very limited. 🙁 But I will try to get some sort of demo in! 🙂

Heh, I wish I would be that far. I wanted to start for a long time now but I had all kinds of stuff happening. In the first two month work just kept me too busy. Also, my vb displays wouldn’t work anymore. I also had some problems with my FlashBoy. Runnerpack fixed my displays by now and Minestorm sent me a new Flashboy.

I had some time to polish my engine and build up some general stuff though. I looked into affine maps and all kinds of other stuff and created a small tech-demo which I use to try stuff out.

My first idea was to take some NES game (some classic like Metroid, Mega Man or Castlevania) and build some kind of port. However, I find that idea somehow boring and decided to go for something rather unique. So the plan is to take the tech-demo I’ve build so far and make a playable game-demo out of it.

Still not sure if there is enough time though.

Aww man. Looks like DogP and I are doing the same game 🙂

I’m really hoping the rest is done and your just stuck on the planet virtual boy start screen 🙂

I will probably take part in the competition with a small project.

For those who haven’t found it yet, here is a hint:

Till February I won’t give any more information about it.

It’s more than a hint 🙂 And it’s great !

Great little tease, you crazy code wizard! Looking forward to the VB library being expanded by a factor of 100 or so. Finally, as some wil say, Pokémon Red will be literally that. 😀

Best “mysterious plumber” soundtrack ever!
Can’t wait to play it! Will you add some 3d effect on porting?

Very inspiring and motivating. Love it. (-:

Hey Kr155e,

if there ever is another coding competition try to pick a time-frame where not all of the following things happen:

– a new Mario game being released
– a new Assassins Creed game being released
– a new Zelda game being released
– a HD remake of a Zelda game being released
– a new Scribblenauts game being released
– a new GTA (!!) game being released
– a new Tim Schafer Point&Click game being released

That would be great. Seriously, if I would care about Pokemon I wouldn’t even dare to think about submitting something.
