first let me start by saying hello to everyone. been a long time collector of 12 years or better but just recently got into virtual boy though. well for Christmas I got an amazing gift from my girlfriend. a vb counter top kiosk, this thing is amazing! but of course, it worked perfect for an hour and now only half the eye is working on the left. my question is, we’re the kiosk head sets special? I know this is a fairly easy fix, but for my curiosity I’m wondering if there is a difference between kiosk and other models. it had wario land locked in the back of it, the game literally appeared brand new and never changed, but was also not a resale game which I thought was odd.

Ooops! I realized there was something on the back of the Japanese ads, so I pulled them out again – here’s a pic of the backs of all 3. Apologies for the glare.

Thanks for the pics! To be sure, the Japanese ad that has the image of Wario on the back, is that the back of the ad that has the 5 Virtual Boy games advertised on the front, or is it the back of the one that is entirely about Wario on the front?

The reason I ask is because with the info found in the article that I recently translated from the VB Guide 2, it appears that the author there must have had an ad with Wario on the back and the 5 Virtual Boy games on the front, even though one would think that the ad with the front all about Wario should be the one to have the Wario image on the back.

Here are pics of the ads I have for the floor-standing display. Some are (obviously) Japanese.

I believe the Japanese ones are blank on the back, but I forgot to double-check when I had them out. As for the US ones – the backs of all of those are the Virtual Boy on black background that you see in the pic by itself. Interestingly, on some of those, the paper is printed on both sides (ad on one side, VB on black on the other). On others, it’s all printed on one side of one double-wide sheet, then folded in half. (The back is blank.)

The US ones are printed on thick paper (card stock?). The JP ones are on thin, cheapo paper.

I do have a duplicate of one of the US ads, but it’s NFS. I would be willing to trade it for one I don’t have.

I’d definitely be interested in trading for the US version but I obviously don’t have any of the advertisements since I’m currently looking for some. I do however have other retro goodness if you’re interested. I.E games, Nintendo rolling storage cart, NES duffle bag, etc.

Thanks for the offer, Blue, but I’m not looking for anything else right now. Other than VB, I’m kind of out of gaming (other than the Pinball Arcade app on my iPad – awesome!). But I’ll see what I can do about getting high-res scans made, so people can print their own.

Benjamin: the one that has Wario on it is on the flip side of the one that’s all about Wario (not the one listing different games).

Even though it doesn’t quite satisfy the request on this thread, I figured I would provide some 300 ppi scans of the Platform Display flyer inserts. Each flyer insert is a sheet of cardstock paper measuring 12.75 inches from top to bottom and 5.25 inches from left to right. The fronts of the flyers have a glossy, photo-quality finish over everything, while the backs of both flyers are a plain white color with no glossy finish.

Thanks for posting those. Just to be clear – those are for the small platform display, NOT the countertop or floor-standing display. Tho the graphics are similar, the dimensions are different.

Sorry, been rather busy with work. I appreciate all the help from everyone, and yes she is pretty awesome lol. She deals with a lot of crap, but she also collects so im sure she understands my struggles!
