After trading some PC Engine games with someone over at the pcenginefx forums, I got a Virtual Boy with Mario’s Tennis! I am very pleased with the system, and the game is really good too. Unfortunately, a cable came loose during shipping, so the left eye screen is garbled, so I have to get the special tool to open it up. Unfortunately, there’s not much purpose playing the VB right now without 3D, but I plan to have many hours of joy with this thing. Good thing I have a swirly chair with adjustable height. πŸ˜‰

It’s good to hear that you are pleased with the system, even though the left eye screen is messed up. For a lot of people, the common glitchy display problem causes them to lose interest in the system and even give up on it. I hope your repairs go well! πŸ™‚

Interesting, there were bad batteries in there. Even when I replaced the batteries, there were still some vertical glitchy lines. Not horribly corrupted like before, but I still need to fix it. The odd thing though is that instead of the left eye being corrupted, its the right eye. I ordered the part yesterday incase, and hopefully the fix should go ok. The 3D is extremely impressive though, now that I am able to see it. It’s not eye-popping, but has incredible depth. πŸ™‚

If you don’t want to fix it yourself, there are some guys around here that can easily fix the glitchy lines.

If you want to save some money on games on the first run you may want to buy a FalshBoy+ from Richard.

Congratulations on one of the best buys one can make ;)!
The problems you describe on the displays are typical glitchy display problems. It can me a bit erratic in behavior.

I am one of the people that can repair it for you, just as an F.Y.I. I charge €30,- for the repairs with a lifetime warranty.

Well, I decide to use the oven method, and for now, my Virtual Boy works flawlessly! πŸ˜€

I hope this lasts more than a few years. πŸ˜‰

Thanks for the extremely helpful guide DogP!

So far have all three Mario games for this system.

Fun, fun, fun! πŸ˜€

Just in case you missed it: There is a limited number of Bound High cards CiB sold in this thread: http://www.planetvb.com/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=4732

It is known as one of the best VB games and I guess the cards will be sold out soon. It is absolutely worth its money and the seller is a 100% truth-worthy.
