Hello everyone!

This is a good day since I’m entering this community which I’ve been lurking, and a very sad day because I broke my Virtual Boy in a way I think… well, beyond repair.

You know that “ribbon cable in the oven” thing? Yeah, I burned both my cables and even the leds I think are gone. The thing is, I set my oven too hot and realized it too late, I feel like the dumbest person alive. Like, really stupid. I live too far away from known repair services so I had to do this but still…

With this said, I’m asking for a thing I believe is impossible: do spare parts like these exist? I mean, the whole led PCB + cable?

Thanks.

I had a few virtual boy units fixed by NES Freak last year and one of them had a bad display unit from a previous owner attempting something similar. He had replacement parts ready to go and it did not cost much more than what I already paid.

Good luck.

Thanks for the reply, that gives me a bit of hope! I really feel bad, it’s not for the money, but for breaking such a great and kinda unique item, so I’d pay for a replacement and fix.
This is an error I wouldn’t have made months ago, but staying home for the pandemic really tricked my mental health I guess. Like, what was I thinking?

If I can’t find a solution I’ll probably buy a new one and use this for spares.
