Iwata will ‘take note’ of requests for Virtual Boy titles on the 3DS Virtual Console

I cannot talk about any unannounced products on occasions like this, but Virtual Boy is a game console Nintendo launched in the past that allows players to experience a 3D world in black and red only by just looking into it. It was not a commercial success, but some say that it was an attractive and extremely unique product by the standards at that time. I believe your comment is that we should take advantage of our software assets from Virtual Boy and I would like to take note of that advice for the future.

I really hope this is true because I honestly think Virtual Boy games would be a perfect fit for the Nintendo 3DS. There was one underrated game that reminded me of Virtual Boy games which was “X-Scape” and that game was released through the DSiWare shop. I absolutely loved that game because it really brought me back to the good old days of Virtual Boy games and Star Fox for the SNES.

Anyone else here played X-Scape?

Thanks for sharing this. It would be really great if Nintendo would rerelease VB games on the 3DS.

Yeah, this is the typical Nintendo BS spin. Iwata used the same backwards ass speak in regards to region locking: http://www.gamespot.com/news/nintendo-president-defends-region-locking-6411061.

I think it would be so cool to see these games released on the 3DS. The reality is that the VB is “N” biggest failure of the last 20 years(ever for that matter), and I’m sure they have no plans to re-live this system, or remind the masses about it.

Hell, they can’t even see fit to release HUGE sellers of their past(earthbound almost took an act of God to get released), so the chances of ever seeing VB are about “slim to none”, and slim has just left the building.

Game & Wario is Nintendo’s latest Wii U release and it makes some mentions to the VB, such as one sitting on 9-Volts desk.

I am not sure they have as much internal hate for the system as they once did.

Yeah, they do show are mention the VB here and there, so it may not be the “red head step child” of the past, but I don’t see them moving it out in the spotlight, but I would love to be proven wrong.

Actually, my wife is playing AC:new leaf, and she acquired a VB in game for her home. Sadly, she had no idea what it was. LOL

I’m really glad they’re considering that at all! Every time I buy a virtual console game on my 3DS, I take the Club Nintendo survey and ask for VB on 3DS! Even if they don’t do it, 3DS jailbreaking will be possible soon. The guys at 3dbrew.org are going to decap the 3DS SoC, which has the encryption keys necessary for jailbreaking. Then someone could port Mednafen!

I have clocked in 300 hours already for new leaf and I am still trying to get the virtual boy lol. I have eaten like a hundred fortune cookies to exchange the ticket for the Nintendo prizes but no luck yet!

I know of the riilay. But if I’m not good enough in the games themselves, as I’m somewhat advanced in them ^^
