I currently have a US Virtual Boy and was thinking about getting a japanese VB. I was wondering, is there any difference between the japanese and american virtual boys (other than the packaging)? Is there any reason to have both an american and japanese virtual boy? I know they aren’t reigion locked.

The main difference is the box it comes in. The units themselves look and function the same.

I’d push back on this, the difference is also the power supply used along with the AC adapter, correct?

That’s the difference between the US and the JPN adapter tap. The console does not include the adapter tap, and to my knowledge they are completely interchangeable (US Tap ok in JPN VB and vice versa).
