Figured it would be nice to see everyone’s systems and game/accessory collections. I’m quite curious to see how many of the VBs on these forums are in good condition, and how many Blockbuster, retail display, japanese, etc kits there are among us.

Regrettably I sold the VB in my avatar many years ago after I first joined. I think I sold it to then fund the purchase of a new phat DS. Bad move.

I’ve just gotten back into the VB scene after missing it so much. I just purchased a Japanese console in mint condition, boxed. Can’t wait to share with everyone. I also bought a secondary head unit only because I thought I was going to be buying a VB set that had a defective head unit (I got out of that deal). I think I’ll be taking the spare apart and using it as parts for my Japanese model. Maybe have the ribbon cables soldered for when the Japanese model’s go bad.

So I’ll be posting my pictures soon. I have quite a few games already, which I’ll show when I get the console pics up.

But everyone else can start ahead of me. Let’s see those VBs!

I usually only sell a VB item if I happen to get another item of the same kind that is of better quality. This purple hat is about as new as they come, so I don’t think I will ever have to upgrade it.

I also have buy that red hat last week
Its à new one and never USed so condition Will be perfect
I am verry happy whit this hat

Out of the 6 Virtual Boy sport caps that are made known on this site, I would have to say that the red/black cap is, indeed, the nicest of them all.

Thanks for scanning those protos. They look super great; I’m quite jealous!

Attached is a combination of 2 scans of one of the signs that were set up in Blockbuster Video stores during the time of the Must See 3-D Sweepstakes, which was advertised in Nintendo Power Magazine. As one can see, the bottom middle part of the sign had a place where NBC/Virtual Boy “Must See 3-D Sweepstakes” entry forms could be placed, and a person visiting Blockbuster could simply take one to use to enter the contest, without any purchase or rental being necessary.

Attached is a combination of 2 scans of a sign that was set up in a Walmart store some time in early 1996. 11 of the 14 total Virtual Boy games released in North America are advertised on the sign, the missing titles being Virtual League Baseball, Jack Bros., and Waterworld. This is likely because these three games were not published by Nintendo, whereas the 11 titles that appear on the sign were.

Attached is a combination of 2 scans of a sign that was set up in a Toys“R”Us store some time in 1996. This type of sign contained an empty white space, where an employee of Toys“R”Us could write in any desired retail price. In this sign’s case, the price of 97.96 US Dollars for a brand new Virtual Boy system was chosen.

And here is a photo of a Walmart flyer proof.

3 more prototype carts have been added to the old collection. 2 of them contain Panic Bomber and the third one contains Jack Bros. (both Japanese versions). Once again, I took apart each prototype cartridge and made high resolution scans of both sides of the PCB as well as the shell pieces for each.

Nice addition! That’s great stuff! Thanks for taking high res photos, too. I’d like to one day add a proto to my collection, but I don’t see that happening anytime soon. In the meantime, I’ll just add this post to my favorites… 🙂

You’re welcome. 🙂

I hope to sit down and play these things through in the not-too-distant future and see if there are any differences in the games from the commercially released versions. These carts were said to have been originally sold by an ex-employee of Nintendo of Japan. If that is the case, then I am guessing that Atlus and Hudson Soft would have sent these carts to Nintendo as “final review” carts, with the expectation that Nintendo would say that the games were good to go and could be commercially released. That being so, there are probably no noticeable differences between these versions and the released ones, but at least I will have lots of fun trying to verify if this is the case.

You have recieved my package whit the 3 prototype cards i see
Great to see they have reach your house in good condition
