I just got a NOS console (that I opened and played). Love that “new” VB smell, with it’s recycled packaging. Reminds me of 08/14/1995. 😉

I read that a while back. I was looking all over for an online store selling them. I would love to have a brand new VB.

I just don’t understand all the talk about how the VB will give you migraines or cause blindness or whatever. I’m sure the people that say this have never played one before…

I got mine from Dubai as well. Beautiful brand new system that STILL suffered from display problems. Thankfully, a kind soul has fixed it for me!

How did you manage to get if from Dubai?

How did you manage to get if from Dubai?

Through a 3rd party

So where’s the party?

I’m guessing they’re out of units – how much did it cost?

Yes, I bought one of the last units from that source months ago, and they’ve since sold out of them. The problem is (from what I’ve heard) that these were not stored in ideal conditions in Dubai for the 10+ years that they sat there. So even though they are nice and new and boxed and pretty, they don’t necessarily work well when received. It’s really luck of the draw.

Well, the cable for the displays can get loose by just laying in a shelf so…

Yeah, but can the copper corrode and turn green inside the cable from sitting on a shelf? Here’s pics from a brand new Dubai display (notice all the green traces, and the green pitting on the wide traces). Compare them to the brownish gold of a “normal” display: http://www.projectvb.com/tech/displayfix/dispinstalled.jpg .

It looks like it can… 😉

Perhaps it’s because of high air moisture?

How do you solve that, replace it with the thin kind of IDE-cable?

Is nothing else “oxidated” as well?

I’m not sure what would cause that… my guess would have been a corrosive moist environment, like air near a salt water beach or shipping/storage on a barge. But high temperature also helps corrosion, so it’s possibly just from temperatures.

Nothing else looked bad at all… it was really just the cables. But fortunately they weren’t completely eaten through in the upper part of the cable, and dissolving the coating and soldering as far up the cable as possible was able to fix it. Hopefully it doesn’t continue to deteriorate though.

It probably will unless you seal it with something, but perhaps not at the same rate in normal conditions. It’s like when you get a small rock punching a hole in the paint of your car, if you don’t do anything about it the rust will start eating away below the paint layer…

YES,the prices are amazing. Mmh , since 1 year i´m interested in a new Panasonic 3DO and a complete game gear set ( with few games )!
Anyway,i think the dealer don´t take care about the price and how much he sell per month/year/decade… 😀
Take it or leave it.

They have the US-box with Mario’s Tennis, is €29.95 expensive?

Actually, that’s the only fair price I can see.

Be warned about Video Game Source, people, one collector told me that they were selling resealed games as brand new.

Yes, I was told they have 20 pcs of the US Mario’s Tennis that are used but they list them as “NEW, factory sealed!” on their webpage.
