It looks like there is an opportunity to get access to this game to dump it. There has been a lot of talk about people wanting unreleased games dumped and it seems like this could be a great opportunity. We would need to find a reputable person with the ability to dump it and $700 USD. What does everyone think about it?

If a reputable person is found who can dump it, I would be willing to give 100 U.S. dollars towards this project.

This is a serious pledge that I can definitely commit to.

By the way… I’m thinking that Richard Hutchinson would be a reputable and trustworthy person who can get this job done, so I’m throwing him out there as a suggestion. Am I right, Richard?

Hell yeah. This would be a great chance to get this game relesed. Robert Molander is the only active member of the site who has the game, so hopefully he will read this thread and be on borad with it.

I agree with Benjamin Stevens. Richard would be the right person for this, he should be able to get the game dumped very easily. Also since hes very trustworty, we won’t have to worry about anything going wrong.

That is some serious interest! and Richard would be the most reputable person I can think of so that would be amazing if he could.

Count me in. I’ll give £30.
I don’t personally know Richard but I did get my flash boy from him, so I would be more than happy for him to do this. That is if he doesn’t mind of course.

What are the differences between the two?

Galactic Pinball and Marios Tennis are the reasons I bought my VB back in the day, so it would be cool to get a prerelease. But if it’s pretty much the same thing, then the ROM wouldn’t really be worth much to me.

It is practically an entirely different game. Galactic Pinball can virtually be considered a sequel to Space Pinball, though it isn’t really, since Space Pinball would have had to have been released, which it might soon be, now, in the ROM world. 🙂

Given the fact that Srimok knows that 700 U.S. Dollars and a reputable person with the ability to dump it are all that is needed to get the game dumped, it would seem that he already knows someone who owns the game and who is willing to let it be dumped. Whether that person is Robert Molander, I don’t know. Also, the person who owns the game who is willing to let it be dumped might not have one of the prototype carts of the game. Reproduction carts of this game have also been made in the past, but I don’t know how many.

Not intressted in this one, but faceball would be verry nice and i am willing to put in a couple of dollar´s to Faceball. 🙂

Keep the game collection grow 😀

Srimok should have the person with the game show a picture of the cart, or if it’s just a rom show it being played on an emulator. Just to show everythings legit. I’m not questioning Srimok or this other persons credibility, Srimok appears to be a nice reputable person. I’m just saying pictures of this persons game/ROM would be nice.

Hopefully this will work out and the game will be dumped. If a fundraiser gets started the amount will very quickly be met.

Maybe 2012 could be the year of lost VB protos getting dumped and relesed.

A Space Pinball fund could be raised in little time!
I hope this can get started soon…

Well, consider this to be my contribution to the site, Jojobean sold it to me, or better said, ripped me off on it with Bound High at the time.

Enjoy it!

Wow, now this got me excited! What a rad contribution to the VB community!

Though whenever I download the file, it comes down with the name “Space Pinball Prototype (J) [!].vb” but with a size of 0 bytes.

Perhaps a re-upload is needed?

THANK YOU! 😀

But the download is not working. You should re-upload as ZIP, please.

Wow, thank you very much! As posted before though, the download doesn’t work.

Cool stuff! I checked my archives and I have no dump of Space Pinball (for some reason I thought I did).

Either way, thanks for the info TheForce81! The file will be available whenever it is available, eh?
For the time being this is a great time for everyone to relive Galactic Pinball.

Galactic/Space Pinball was a much needed first in the “pinball” genre for home consoles. I’m surprised at how many pinball titles strike a nostalgic nerve considering the lack of consumer enthusiasm. Whether you remember seals bouncing beach balls on NES Pinball or hatching Alligator eggs in Hal Laboratory’s Revenge of the Gator for Game Boy, this odd and niche gaming category delivered a suitable fix for the desire to knock around an 80Gram ball-bearing for entertainment.

The Stereo 3D effects of Galactic pinball introduced the true feeling of viewing a pinball playing field on a home console IMO. Let’s be honest, pinball is rather simple and the fun involved was a mix of basic luck and timing/reaction skills. Pinball video games need accurate physics, but physics alone cannot recreate the vibe of standing over an old smoke-stained silver ball machine. However with the aid of 3D, for the first time ever on our Virtual Boy we could enjoy pinball at home without an actual Pinball machine and get that feeling that we *just may be* playing on one from a visual standpoint. While Galactic Pinball for VB may not be the epitome of gaming pinball greatness, it sure was a daring and elegant first step for consumers that didn’t have the financial luxury of having their own “man cave” in the early-mid 90s.

As always, rock on PVB! Take care and have a safe New Years.
Happy Holidays, everyone!

Well that was unexpected… A big thank you, seriously.

Can we start the fund up for Faceball 2000 now instead?

Top job. I was a little worried someone might try that kind of ‘deal’ again, I had the ROM gifted to me a while back, but was asked to keep it quiet, pleased to now see it out there.

Well, unfortunately, the Space Pinball ROM isn’t “out there” yet because I don’t think anyone can get the download to work properly. I sure can’t. But now, everyone knows that you have a working ROM that could be put out there for everyone.

Yeah, you probably should have kept that under your hat for a bit longer Mr Hedge. If he’s decided to go away on holiday for a bit you could get a lot of people pestering you now.

Well whenever it does turn up, I look forward to playing it.

ah i missed that post about the download not working, i can’t do owt about it right now, on holidays and posting on my 3ds and in-laws pc, not got access to my files. I’ll let force sort it for now, like been said already he’s probably on a break too so i’m sure it can be sorted, unless some how Nintendo monitor us and have managed to corrupt the site so the download don’t work……..will we ever hear from the force again.
