It looks like there is an opportunity to get access to this game to dump it. There has been a lot of talk about people wanting unreleased games dumped and it seems like this could be a great opportunity. We would need to find a reputable person with the ability to dump it and $700 USD. What does everyone think about it?

I’m interested and I have 3 donors carts!! Where I should send the carts ?

Same deal as Bound High – 3 donors.

I am completely fine with it, though it would be nice (and in NO WAY a demand, completely optional) if you could help me out on a Bound high one, I can only supply you with one donor card though. I applied for the one before, but at that time I was graduating in college and forgot to send it and contact you about it. Would be nice, but anyways, go ahead and use this ROM for whatever project you want.

I can’t find a nice picture of the Space Pinball prototype cover art on this site or anywhere else online. Perhaps Virtual Jockey or someone else who has a nice picture of the cover art could put a high quality scan of it on this thread, for anyone to use who will be getting a reproduction cart from Richard.

This is the only original art that I know of. From my personal collection, and bought it from somebody that bought it from KR155E (or somebody that bought it from somebody that bought it from KR155E! 😉 ). It’s quite tattered and was a poor printing quality to begin with, but a simple & quick photoshop job to remove the wrinkles/creases and a slight rotation correction should make it look decent when shrunk down to VB Sticker size. The art in it’s original form is 4.8″ high X 4.5″ wide.

Here’s a 600dpi scan (20.08mb):

I have a label based on a cleaned up version of that poster. I think Chris sent it me ages ago. Looks nice.

Here it is –

Yep. I was going to dig it out and post it myself, but Richard was faster. Feel free to use it for any repro carts guys. 🙂

Thanks so much for the scans, guys! I definitely hope to order my reproduction cart from Richard now, just need to acquire some more poor Mario’s Tennis carts that are going to be eliminated forever.

Haha, I have a bunch of carts coming tomorrow for the exact same thing.

However, that label really needs clearing up. I’ll have a go and repost if people want that option.

If you can clear up and re-post Virtual Jockey’s scan, that would be great. I like that the title doesn’t cover over the artwork.

I prefer the label that the title doesn’t cover the artwork too , but the second one is cleaned up and has the correct size, so I vote for KR155E’s one XD.

I’m currently cleaning up the original art at pixel level for the creases and cracks. In general I think the final label shouldn’t have details squished, cropped-down or blurred. If I worked at Nintendo in 95 I would keep the image intact in the upper right hand corner with the black VB stripe down the left and the title bar at the bottom. Maybe even use the same VUE code but replace GP (Galactic Pinball) with SP (Space Pinball). I take it a label size is 1x wide x 4/5 high? The image alone with title bar would not be suitable in original form to retain original aspect but would work beautifully with the launch JPN style. Since US art is some way over-customized logo crap, JP style is the only way to go if you want it to match other carts (and we have so little to work with in terms of art to begin with that US style would be a nightmare).

I’m taking it that the weird green border and basic font used for the words “space pinball” was not intentional for the game and was just for a title card at a show. With the art we have, I think that weird shape at the upper left is the bottom portion of a stylized “S” that would have read space pinball had the art not been cropped from the only art we have on hand. (KR155E must have had the same thought since he excluded the green border for the art image on this site)

NEAT ty.

Forgot to say I’m making Japanese labels & box for this, the Flashboy and Bound High! if people are interested.
Been stupidly busy and have had to put them off but the template is pretty much together now.

I would definitely be interested in getting a box for Space Pinball. When you say “Japanese” box, does that mean that the box will reflect the style of the boxes for the Japanese Virtual Boy games but have English text, or will all the text be in Japanese as well? Or could there be 2 versions, one in Japanese and one in English?

Text and everything usual will be in Japanese. I’ll probably share the template so you could switch it out if you wanted though. I’d like a cart with whatever this website feels best, but I also wanted to create a Japanese style box, label (and manual if possible!) to go along with following the examples set by Galactic Pinball.

I might even give it a Japonesque name like ‘Galactic Pinball Zero’ 🙂

I’m almost done with recreating this file. I’m doing it in Corel so it will be perfectly scalable.

Very nice to see that a lot of people are happy with this one and contributing on top of the upload!
I should have uploaded it a long time ago, really sorry that I didn’t. Warm feelings to my heart it does, to quote a certain green man 😛

Sweet. I was hoping that you’d be working on a box for Space Pinball. The Bound High one is completely awesome.

TheForce81, thanks again for posting this, and is that a reference to Yoda’s Episode II quote of “Senator Amidala, your tragedy on the landing platform, terrible. Seeing you alive brings warm feelings to my heart.” It’s actually one of the few times when he structured a sentence normally. 😉

If you look closely, I believe you’ll find it’s the corner of one of three pinball play-field outlines (the other two being the prominent red one at the bottom, and the blue one at the upper right; a set including one each of red, green, and blue).

I don’t have Corel, but I would love to have a vector version when you’re done. Can Corel export it to .SVG or some other open or widely-used vector format? I might be able to work with PostScript (including the Adobe Illustrator variant called .AI)…

Wow, very good eye! I honestly never noticed that those were tables before. ‘^_^
