Yamanaka is a native resident of Japan. After graduating from his university program, he officially joined Nintendo in 1988, initially working as a Computer Programmer for the Research & Development 1 Division.
Yamanaka contributed to several titles including the Super Mario Land, Wario Land, Metroid, Game Boy Wars and Dr. Mario series. Yamanaka’s last official credit for the company was on Wario Land 3 for the Game Boy Color. While his retirement or departure hasn’t been disclosed, it’s likely that he is no longer working for the company.
