I think someone has already tried to write the seller. I just hope that whoever wins, makes the cable avail. to dogp or hedgetrimmer to help out with their cord project.

I shouldn’t have posted about it..and just bought the sucker 😛

Instead of a bunch of us planning to bid..we should talk so we don’t raise the price to a silly amount.

It ain’t a real party till the mailman get’s drunk….

🙂

■ Yokoi Gunpey game museum aspect previous version Nintendo Virtual Boy

Is the yahoo translated title of the auction.

Figure it’s a history of what he’s made.

I played it when it came out in the arcades. I remember it was extremely expensive to play compared to the other games. Also, the reaction time was off when you needed to do something. So, until you got your timing down..you lost money quickly. It was very cool at the time thou…I’d enjoy just looking at it and getting different angles to see the real image before it was reflected.

I just have to ask… what was the stupid low price on it?

Heh 🙂 not saying.

Maybe it wasn’t low..I didn’t make a profit thou. Which is fine.

-Eric

It has virtual boy on the front also (I think)..or it was listed under virtual boy on yahoo japan.

Wife wins..it’s sold. I should have asked for more, but..didn’t feel right. At least I got to take pictures of it for the site 🙂

I was actually thinking of putting a stupid high price on it and telling her it couldn’t sell 😛

Winner gets a pretty unique display ad..and a nice looking playable piece 🙂 congrats 🙂

Wow, I didn’t know there was another mario one…

I actually set the it on the one I was keeping..and thought…nawwww I’d sell it with the kiosk.

And yes..pretty small..easily shipped.

Price wise…i’d listen to offers 🙂 no rush…wife was asking why i needed 5 virtual boys out and running 😛 She’s oki as long as i’m making the ‘attempt’ to get rid of one 🙂

-Eric

6004…addicting 🙂 someone make it for the vboy 🙂

heh 🙂

I won’t say….let’s just say with shipping..it was a great deal more then you’ll pay 🙂

Good luck 🙂

The good news is the light works. The virtual boy can be replaced..the screws can..and you can even get the plexi-glass fixed (actually it just looks scratched in the pic).

I have one of these myself 🙂

I think that’s being a bit harsh (my opinion). He asked for a value..we gave our opinion..he was a bit disappointed. Totally understandable *shrugs*.

Hopefully things will work out..he’ll either keep collecting, stand pat, or sell for what he can get :). If he keeps collecting, I’ll give him the advice I give every new person to the site: get the flashboy and enjoy all the new stuff that has come out in the last few years…bound high, fishbone, space squash, faceball….this might be the first time he can actually play gundam :)..space pinball..vb racing..hunter..hyper fighter…the list goes on and on.

Maybe he has info he can contribute to the site. That long ago, things were being sold and never seen again…(no..i’m not suggesting he has dragon hopper :P).

With the new releases and upcoming releases..we might get a bunch of old guys coming back..or new members. I just want to make sure we’re keeping a positive tone and opening up to have a bigger and better community.

That’s pretty cool 🙂 I love to see these type of pics 🙂

I don’t think collecting virtual boy games for a profit is going to work. The prices have been pretty stable for the last few years, even after the roms for the super rare games were released.

Now, I find it really odd that you spent that much for virtual lab so long ago. I picked up mine..4 years ago or so..and it was 500. This game I think SHOULD be worth in the 1k range because I think the rarity is close too (if not more then) bowling. I base this just on what I’ve read and seen for sale. But, the market doesn’t support that price..so..*shrugs*.

Most vb enthusiasts just love the system and are picking up a flashboy and some of the more fun games/repros..and are HOPEFULLY developing (or supporting) the vb homebrew scene :). The main collectors that are picking up these rare games are Nintendo collectors that are trying to complete sets. The vboy didn’t come out with many games and it’s considered one of the more easier sets to complete (if 4-5 games are more expensive). These are the people that would have to drive up the prices. But, there doesn’t seem enough of them to do so..but enough to keep the prices stable.

So, in summary: do not try to make money collecting vboy games 🙂

I always thought this would be a good side project for someone to do and sell on the forum.
