you can pick one up from any Maplins or online, please don’t be scared as it’s well worth it.
I’m personally not fussed about Faceball because it’s on a bunch of other platforms and I can basically imagine it being in black and red with bad 3D easily enough.
Dragon Hopper is a little different, because it looks like it could be special, but if the owner of Faceball wouldn’t consider dumping it for a reasonable amount then I wouldn’t waste time with that kind of personality.
Figured I’d add my name on twice as I guess this is a one shot opportunity and I try to get one for use and one for wen the Queen comes round as a rule. Why not here.
Not sure if these will be numbered or not, but I’ll grab that 20th slot either way. We are 8 short right now, so we’re well on our way.

For the ROMs to be released we’d need o cast the net wider than just on here, but with the aid of some Gameboy, NES and Super NES communities it could be done if people chucked in $50 each.
But then you’d see that it’s not all that, and the value of the proto would be decreased…
I’m not serious – just trying to get into the mentality of proto hoarders 🙂
It’ll turn up one day if it exists when someone wants to sell it.
Until then, I’m not too bothered, I don’t think it looked THAT enjoyable, personally.

I played through Earthbound “Zero” on a GBA flashcart many years ago. Yes it’s absolutely not a legal form of ownership to own one and especially not legal to manufacture them. However, it’s a great game and Nintendo did no justice by canning the release and never offering an official alternative.
There is no legal way to own this game. Even if you shell out over 1k on eBay when an offifial proto pops up, it’s PROPERTY of Nintendo or the developers. All in all, Mother 1/NES Earthbound is one of the top 10 games ever made for the console. Fans have screamed bloody murder for at least a decade to get this released, but it seems that Hal and Nintendo don’t want our money.
Legality is never black and white and is always shades of grey. This particular issue is a light grey, because the game is in the public domain and Nintendo would have to wrestle to prove that the extra content is also theirs (the code base obviously is) and what’s more, the NES repro guy is charging for parts and labour.
It’s about as illegal as jay-walking I’d say.
Nintendo make it a policy not to chase after and punish fan activity like this. It all enriches their name and community and is not deriving them of major income, so please don’t feel like their seething at the thought of this. They didn’t want to invest in it themselves because Earthbound is NOT massive in the West despite what teh internetz would suggest – but they’re certainly not going to shut anyone down over it.
Someone on this board??
There’s an original Flashboy in there too!
By the way, I don’t know if these will be numbered so I didn’t want to set a precedent, I just like the number 7.
In fact, I switched places with someone at the Wii launch event years ago so that I coiuld be #7 even, I’m that sad.
I said previously that I could order two so I might do that after the list fills out a bit.
I can’t commit yet so won’t add my name twice until I’m sure.

Heh, that makes it tempting to get another one! 😀
Robert Molander added his name as ‘GameWarriors’ – hope that doesn’t make him less contactable when they order comes in etc.
They had a couple of levels planned in this style, I really wish Nintendo had gone along with it, but alas as we know they’re not too fond of mentioning the VB outside of little homages.
Oh, I attached clearer images for the benefit of anyone who wasn’t familiar.

To be honest, I’d say:

I keep my games in a box as well, just a cardboard one.
That pink 3DS is the world’s first pink 3DS – a prototype made up in a different shade of pink, not all the inside is pink though. It doesn’t get much use right now, but there are some great games around the corner.
Though I think it’s kinda silly, Nintendo usually include the http:// in their manuals even. That’s usually on the inside though, I wouldn’t imagine them insisting on it for the manual covers and haven’t seen that before.
For now, this is my VB box – a Millennium Hotels towel bag with a stylish set of VB shades to keep guard

Ironically it’s more noticeable as is, because there’s a gap that shows it’s been tampered with.
Officially, it would be laid up this way. I do this with Nintendo as part of my job and it’s something I’d expect to see, but I’m not married to it if it’s just me.
I’m not too fussed about it really if people think it’s unnecessary – but please, please put the maintenance on one line and the URL call to action on the line below. That would read much better. So, like this:
NEED HELP WITH INSTALLATION, MAINTENANCE OR SERVICE?
VISIT WW.PLANETVB.COM
(I couldn’t center text – but center the lower line in the red box I’d say. Also only WW. here as the website turned it into a hyperlink and changed formatting with three)
yes it’s not actually necessary to type it in, I never do – but it helps people realise at first glance that it’s a URL.
So, it’s just a readable thing, but if yopu space it properly on the area you don’t need that eitehr really. It needs adjusting though.
