I also go to other forums with more traffic in the marketplace and I know where you’re coming from. Like I said, I’m not trying to be a dick or anything, stuff just doesn’t get buried here quite like busier forums.

No worries i understand 😛
Thanks for telling me.

Ok no offense intended here, you’re probably not used to the more quaint nature of this forum. This isn’t really the type of place that warrants a service thread bumped on a weekly basis. In the Main Virtual Boy forum, literally the third stickied topic down is a repair thread with your name in it. If you find this thread actually gets buried past page 1 by all means bump, but judging by the other threads in the marketplace it takes around 2 months :p

Well there arnt any rule stating otherwise. i just bump when my tread dissapears off the front page for the most recent post.

I come from nintendoage so a thread there can dissapear with in a few hours off the first page lol.

I’ll slow it down on the bumping though.

Bump!

I just got one of my consoles back from him and it works fantastically! I can finally take a good look at these games without having to worry about a fluttering right display.

If you’ve got a fluttering VB, I would definitely recommend his repair service.

Thank you for your feed back!

Just the PCBs and ribbon or the whole unit?

You’re from the uk right? It would be cheaper to just send the screens out since I’m in the usa.

As a first step in attempting to fix the mirrors, you should try to blow the dust out of your galvanometer sensors:

Also, be sure you’re plugging the display cables in correctly:

With all due respect to Nes Freak, if you are getting sound, there’s nothing wrong with your cartridge port. Unlike the NES/Famicom, the VB’s cartridge is kind of an “all-or-nothing” deal; either it works perfectly or not at all. Also, even if it does get dirty/tarnished enough to stop booting, simply inserting and removing a game a few times should clean it just fine with no chemicals needed.

not the situation Ive experienced. so far with my experiences with VB ive had games stop working wile i was playing after a quick cleaning with contact cleaner it was fine. but there was this one time i thought the sound chip was faulty cause i wasnt getting much sound out of one side with alot of static. after i cleaned the slot it was working perfectly.

well if you cant find any one ill take it on for you.

I’ll tell you the problem…

first the game contacts need cleaning. you can clean them by putting some contact cleaner on the end of a cheap game and inserting that in to the console in and out. next the mirrors are out of sync the sensor that detects the vibration is not registering thus you get a mirror thats trying to re sync but cant.

i might be able to fix that for you but i cant guarantee its repair. i have fixed out of sync mirrors before and game contact issues too

btw is there anyway to edit a thread post around here? its kinda annoying that i cant update the initial post.
