Very cool piece of hardware!

One piece of advice, do not put boards on anti static bags! The outside is conductive and can fry your board.
People say it isn’t that bad, but better safe than sorry. Put it on a piece of cardboard if you are protecting your table 😉

Not trying to protect the table, was trying to protect the board! I’ll put it on a piece of cardboard from now on. It usually resides INSIDE the anti static bag so it made sense to take it out and place it on top. I shall no more though!

Thanks 🙂

Doesn’t have to be prototypes, anything obscure is cool to see!

I didn’t even know about the rumble version of SM64, I know they re-released Wave Race but somehow I missed SM64.

I always found these messages hilarious. Wait, what game was I playing?? Who made it?? What am I playing on!? I’m lost in this world!

…Oh thank god, it says right there.

Did this with my Dreamcast, best idea ever. I don’t see why it wouldn’t work so long as the holder physically fits in the cart.

Not mine but still a cool item to see nonetheless

This is a newly found, more official build of the game. It should be basically the same in every way, but it’s cool to have the official dump from a proper cart.

Thanks to everyone involved in this! Even if it’s essentially the same version of the game it’s still cool to have something VB related like this surface.

Definitely a good Christmas present..Actually this and the GBA TS2 board waiting for me in the mail to pickup today, it’s a good Christmas this year 🙂

Merry Christmas everyone.

I wasn’t aware of one either… If there is I hope they are clearly marked as such.

I don’t think we should get the pitchforks and torches or anything, Guy definitely had/has good intentions.

Hmmmmmm, interesting

Rename the file in the SD card to something shorter. I got an error when using the default name of the ROM from the Patreon page. Use something short and without dashes, like vplayer.vb, and give it another try.

Thank you! Worked like a charm

So I’ve been enjoying mine for a couple hours now, I’ve successfully “duplicated” one of my cartridges, which is pretty damn cool.

Only thing is I can’t seem to get the 128mbit Mario video demo from the patreon to flash. When I choose the file from the SD card I get a ‘SD Card ERROR!’ message. It’s weird because it worked totally fine for the 32mbit rom I dumped and then flashed to the same 128mbit cart.

The SD card is a 4gb sandisk card formatted to FAT32.

Any ideas?

Actually checking the link on the first page it does look to be active still. My bad, I seriously don’t remember cancelling mine..

I don’t think you need to, I think he’s canceled it. I didn’t get a charge for his patreon last month

Better marketing, better game lineup at launch, and a link cable from the start with a killer 2 player game.
I don’t think the display would have to be color, at the time their other battery powered system was puke green and darker puke green. The VB display is worlds better then the DMG.
The display never gives headaches if setup properly, so like Morintori said maybe more prominent ways to explain how to set it up properly (even a piece of paper with instructions on that cardboard piece that protected the visor so they had to see if before playing).
Maybe a large ad campaign to clear up the misconceptions about the system.

Nice! Stoked for this

Yeah that’s Wario Land’s code name, probably just a spelling mistake for Nintendo Power.

I wouldn’t mind doing that for you, Runnerpack. We can just let MK know to ship the item direct to you instead of me.

Very cool! This is much needed!

Backed!

I must have been the only one to not like it, I know it’s just a schtick but his reasons for hating it were kind of lame. It’s not really all that bad but it sucks because the internet says so? That’s sorta what I got out of it, the main argument of games not being built for ‘Virtual Reality’ is bullshit. It’s just an immersive 3D game console, it would be dumb to only make extremely specific games for it. There’s so many other directions game developers could go with it, the main focus should only be fun.

It’s cool to see that it actually got more people into the console, though. I was already heavy into VB collecting when I saw it and as you can tell didn’t view it quite the same =P
