Oops, it is indeed lol. Didn’t notice it because I guess it sort of blended with the light grey of the website. My bad 😉.

Nice. Maybe shift it to the left a bit to account for the faceplate/cover? I’ll have to join in a few days in since I need to repair my laptop, but hopefully I can come up with a couple of neat labels once I’ve got that sorted out. Good luck to everybody! 🙂

Great stuff Kevin 🙂. Do you want the colour bars as with last time?

Awesome. I’m sure this’ll keep me busy when I can find a good chunk of time to spend on it. Thanks Thunderstruck! 🙂

Ok, I’m done for now. All the labels for the original released games plus Hyper Fighting and the default/programming are finished, as well as their corresponding icons.

Just wanted to drop in and say congrats; and thanks! As I’ve stated before, after the contest I was really hoping to see people continue to produce labels, and it’s been great seeing that fulfilled and being able to follow your labels. I figured I might as well finish off the post by stating my favourites and writing briefly what I like about each of them.

1. Hyper Fighting – the colours… well *ahem* shades really pop
on this one and accentuate the finer details.
Great to have a label this cool for what is
essentially the flagship title of the
HyperFlash.

2. Virtual Bowling – just really clean looking. I love the
reflection of the pins on the alley and it
really conveys the polished look they have
irl.

3. VB Wario Land – I wasn’t crazy about this one upon its first
iteration, but once you tweaked it to add the
diamonds in the eyes (and everything else I’m
not going to bother looking up for reference
heheh), I think it really fleshed it out into
something really cool

4. Waterworld – I appreciated how you incorporated the sunset
into the label, as from what I’ve seen from
gameplay, it’s practically omnipresent.
Another awesome label.

Honorable mentions:

Golf – I’ve still got a bit of a soft spot for my Golf label, but
yours is undoubtedly the better label. I really do
like this one.

SD Gundam Dimension War – very simple and clean; I like it. The
same goes for Virtual League Baseball.

Panic Bomber, & Space Invaders V.C. – Your first labels, for the
contest iirc. Very
minimalist designs set to
spacey backgrounds. Though
your earliest, they still
hold up very nicely.

Galactic Pinball – pretty much what I just said.

Thanks again for all the hard work you put into creating all these labels, as someone who made a lot of labels for the contest (a good portion of which would have been a less effort by a decent margin than most of yours), I know how long and arduous the process can feel at times (… but maybe it’s because of how quick I was pumping them out), and we appreciate it!

Cheers, TRM. 🙂

Lookin’ good. Kinda funny how all the Virtual Bowling labels usually turn out quite nicely 😉

Keep up the good work! 🙂

Nice to see you on here again 🙂

The idea is to put names of people that have labels under “Label Available” in the hope to easily see what labels have NOT been generated.

I’ll start filling in ones I know, but anyone with link access can modify it.

The document is ‘View only’ when I go into it, but regardless, besides the ones you put down of mine (most of them), I also did labels for Golf, Nester’s Funky Bowling, Panic Bomber, SD Gundam Dimension War, Space Invaders Virtual Collection, and Virtual Boy Wario Land. It should be accurate at least for my stuff when those are added :).

OK, results are in.

Holy snaps! I can’t believe I won a category!!! 😀
I’m so happy and exited!

Congratz to all the other winners! They all look great!

Thanks Mellott for the contest and expanding to 3 different categories! <3

Agreed! I think the three categories were a good (and generous) idea, and I’m hyped to have done as well as I did! Great job to everyone who participated, and my congratulations to all those who placed.

Thanks again to everybody who made this such a fun (& friendly) competition,

TRM (hell yeah – I actually won!)

think you missed a couple of mine from pages 10 & 11 (getting them on the display, I mean), but I’m not too fussed about it. Anyway, just wanted to say it here as well – good luck everyone 🙂

Oh oops haha, guess I wasn’t paying enough attention, thanks for the heads up. I’ll get on to fixing that :P.

(edit) Fixed! I’ve also updated the folder on my other post. Thanks again for bringing it to light.

Thanks for getting them up on the display, I have to agree that they do look a bit better outlined, on the e-ink screen. 🙂

For the sake of clarity, I figured I probably should post here the extra Red Alarm and redone Innsmouth images that I released via my other post (the innsmouth image is only so people can see what it looks like, and is included with the rest in the .zip)

You certainly have the most labels! Nice job.

Hopefully for the most part I managed to capture both quantity and quality heh heh. I think I definitely improved after getting used to it with the first one, which you can probably see by comparing the it to what came after, especially with Virtual Bowling coming from the batch directly after.

Also see the comparison below to the original & redone versions without the text (the redone versions with text are included, along with, again, another one for Red Alarm, with all my other images in the folder attached to the first post).

Here’s a picture with all the art I’ve done in a single image.

If I had to pick a favourite, it might actually be the one for Gold with the japanese text. I think the best one I’ve done is probably either the Teleroboxer schematics (lots of detail), or the one for Virtual Bowling (just pretty cool).

Also, keep in mind that for the full size & colour images sometimes they can only be as nice to look at as the scans that I could find… which is why the “bomber bros” thing looks kinda horrendous (though I guess I could have scaled everything down to compensate a bit more).

Here it is – my final batch. I Thought it’d be cool to convert some of the patents, and I had a little fun with some mashups (even though they might not actually be useful).

With these I’ve accomplished everything I wanted after I expanded my initial scope (which expanded again a few times throughout all this), and now I’m fully satisfied with what I’ve managed to do

I really like the megaten series, even though I’ve only played one game, so I did the boxes for Jack Bros, with some changes (for the Japanese one I tried to get the side bit to look like an obi strip). The one with the baseball teams is a bit messy because it was pretty quick and I didn’t bother cleaning it up. Last but not least, I thought it’d be fitting to end off where I started by doing some more for Innsmouth No Yakata.

Tomorrow I’ll compile every one I’ve done, over 60 by now I think, done over 16 days (14 days where I did at least a little bit, and 2 in between somewhere when I took the day off) into a folder (I’ll make sure they’re all 24bit and are appropriately named), and also release a few things I had to do for all the e-ink art, stuff like art from manuals with the backgrounds removed (in a separate post to this one).

Oh, and thanks DeAthWaGer for the link to the converter, and especially to Kevin for all the work you put into making stuff like the Hyper Flash (I hope you like seeing the VB character where I incorporated it).

Second to last batch from me. 36 and counting.

Just a reminder to use 24bit BMPs. My scripts look for 24bit and I have to manually convert otherwise. Thanks.

Oh sorry, sometimes it only gives me the option to save as 8 or 16 bits bmps, I’ll see if I can convert all the ones I’ve done.

I can’t really help with any testing or engine knowledge, but what I can do is recommend you ask around in the discord, I usually see a lot of questions answered there. Good luck with the game! (I hope Craig gets his car back :P).
