I’m not too concerned if it sells in the meantime, it’s kinda like whatever to me now. It is a beautiful little display though. The 3-D sweepstakes advertisements are all very well designed.

When it first ever appeared on ebay, about a year or so ago, I made him an offer I was most certainly sure he would accept. But he turned me down man, he turned me down 😳

But that’s okay because I snatched the last entry form off the display then took-off runnin’!! 😁

It does sadden me a bit, to think of stores back in the day just tossing out/burning perfectly fine VB promo items. But I like to think of it as a sort of ceremonial cremation for some of Nintendo’s most unique promo items, rather than just some unnecessary disposal of fine goods ; )

I would say it’s most likely the vinyl one. Only because it seems to share a lot of the same advertising content as the counter card/mobile. To me, it looks like the counter card/mobile in banner form, with the only added text being “IS HERE” next to the Virtual Boy logo on the banner. I wish that picture of the banner was just a little bit clearer, this way we would’ve been able to make out the model and part number to confirm it.

Actually, it seems as though a lot of store advertising banners and posters were of no charge to the retailers. Check out these GameBoy and SNES order forms in the first picture, a lot of cool stuff was free to these stores!

As for the Virtual Boy Poster itself, I’ve never seen or found photos of one online, but I have a picture from an old ebay auction for a 1995 Nintendo museum tour book. It shows what seems to be the VB counter card/mobile on top of one of the display cases. It also seems to show a dedicated Display case for the Virtual Boy, but it’s too blurry to make out if there’s a VB Poster in one of them…

There is a switch on the bottom of that stand, what does that do?

That switch just looks like it might be a pop-out rendition of the power switch found on the Virtual Boy controller, but it’s hard to tell in the photo if it is actually jutting out of the sign. Thus, I don’t think it’ll have any special function on the sign itself. It’d be pretty cool, though, if they made the switch jut out of the image of the Virtual Boy controller on the sign. I guess VUE Finder will let us know once he gets it.

The power switch is just a 2-D image.

Hey, thinking of a Nester promo got me thinking about your awesome NFB ceiling hanger, did you know that there also exist a large box 3-D Tetris ceiling hanger?

About 7-8 years ago, a Nester ceiling hanger showed up on ebay. The seller stated in the items description that he also had a 3-D Tetris one if anyone was interested.

At the time, I wasn’t really collecting the promo items yet, so I never bothered to bid. But, one of my old cell phones still has screenshots from the auctions description, if ever I find the phone I’ll post the pics.

I was the one who actually made the purchase. I’m pretty happy with the price I paid, considering that I’ve been searching for rare Virtual Boy items for about 10 years and this is the only one that I’ve ever seen available for purchase…

I looked at it like “now’s my chance” … I’m happy though! 🙂

Thanks guys. Well… The Virtual Boy was certainly featured in Nintendo Power, and Nester’s only game is exclusive to it, so I think I’ll keep it in the ol VB collection ; )

Yes, this item is called a store shelf dangler. I tried taking better pictures so you can get a better idea on how this works. Basically, the part that looks like the handle to a TNT detonator has some adhesive behind it, that part would be placed along the edge of a shelf in a display case allowing the rest of it to ‘dangle’.

The last picture is of a Super Nintendo dangler, indicating a good possibility for the existence of a Virtual Boy dangler…

Hilarious. Just last week Bound High was being “exploited” for a few hundred bucks, apparently it’s quadrupled in value since then.

This ebay seller is ridiculous!!! He has been trying to sell his virtual boy stuff on the bay for at least 7-8 years now….if his items don’t sell then he just jacks the price up even higher…it’s like he doesn’t want to sell enything, but instead just wants to display his collection on ebay… DON’T BUY ANYTHING from this seller. You will NEVER get a good deal from him.

I usually get ending A everytime I play this game. All you have to do is beat each level before the panic music kicks in and you can’t die once. Do this and you will see “ending A”.
