What are some of the worst video games you’ve ever had the experience to play?

1. Action 52 (NES)
52 boring as hell, badly programmed games.

2. Pit Fighter (SNES)
Boring, dumb, slow and awkward fighting game.

3. Hot Slots (NES)
Sure it’s rare and X rated but it’s 3 dumb slot machine games with odd controls that take some time getting use to.

4. E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial (Atari 2600)
We know it’s legendary awfulness

5. Peek-A-Boo Poker (NES)
As with “Hot Slots” X rating doesn’t mean a damn thing, it’s just poker and nothing more exciting than that.

6. Mario’s Time Machine (SNES)
Cool idea but screwed up SO badly.

7. Mario Is Missing! (NES/SNES)
This game will put you to sleep quick.

I can’t think of any more.

I actually liked that game. It’s difficulty keeps me going and wanting to beat it.

Played a few totally kak games in my years but one that stands out as just complete and utter toss was
Rock n roll adventures on Wii.
Had the mis-fortune of being given this, the gifter is no gamer, knew we (me and my wife) had a Wii, knew we liked a bit of Elvis (an Elvis minister married us in Vegas) and thought it would be a good purchase, shame, I didn’t have the heart to say how bad it was, well still is I haven’t got rid of it, I couldn’t live with myself knowing a second hand copy was out there and some poor sucka would maybe buy it.
The ‘game’ seems broken, as well as badly made, badly animated, bad graphics (never something that usually puts me off, chuckie egg was no feast for the eyes but i played it to death), just plain bad, total wii cash-in.

No more heroes (Wii)
Tetris 2 (GBC)
Superman 64 (N64)

I’m going with Oblivion. Some people love it, but it’s left an indellible putrid taste in my mouth though and I regret even trying it out. I knew I’d hate it, by the nine.

Plumbers Don’t Wear Ties (3DO)
There is no way to explain how awfull this game is. Imagine a bad slide show of a crappy romantic comedy movie, then put that in a video game on a failure of a console with shotty controls. I think AVGN explained it the best: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DyaF_gCKWsI

Dragon’s Lair (NES)
Awfull game and hard as possible, I couldn’t get past the first screen.

Shadow: War of Succession for the 3DO has to be one of the worst games of all time for any system.

I haven’t played nearly enough games to be the least bit authoritative in this thread (in fact, I’d never even heard of many of the games mentioned so far) but I have played Vexx. It has to be the worst example in a genre that’s full of many other mediocre-to-awful games (3D platformer). Another one that’s nearly as bad: Starfox Adventures.

Adventure (Atari 2600)
Can’t get a more boring of an adventure than this.

Ack…I loved adventure..played it over and over.

What about sewer shark for the sega genesis CD ?

I have to put my two cents in for Adventure, too. I thought it was a great game. Where else could you poke a duck-looking dragon to death with an arrow-looking sword?

Deadly Towers (NES)
Nightmare-ish music, terrible play control, impossible difficulty, stay away from this game.

Milon’s Secret Castle (NES)
Way too difficult and play control needs improvement.

Only to add some newer games to the list:

– Kirby’s Epic Yarn
– LocoRoco

Both are pretty pointless because they are way to easy. The sad thing is that both had a high potential.

Ahh Deadly Towers. I actually bought this game as a kid because of the cool artwork on the package. This was before I knew about game reviews. You failed to mention 2 other aspects of the game. One the graphics sucked it was like you were milo in pajama land (instead of the cool figure they showed on the cover) and The level design was totally uninspired as well. Broderbund had to go back to school before trying to make games.

It’s hard to imagine That Legacy of the Wizard,The battle of Olympus and The Gaurdian Legend which are all three great games came from Broderbund………. years later

I actually like the music in Deadly Towers…

And Kirby’s Epic Yarn is not easy if you try to 100% it.

That’s right. It is the same way with LocoRoco. I guess that’s why I don’t like them. They are more “try to collect everything games” then a standard platformer.

I finished both of them, but I was really happy to go on with another game after that.

Hydlide (NES)
Hard as all living hell, no clue where or what to do, and it rips off the Indiana Jones theme. Oh yeah and attacking, what a joke.

Winter Games (NES)
Oh dear god the controls and the graphics/music.

Rambo (NES)
Zelda 2 rip off.

Dick Tracy (NES)
See the nerd.

Fester’s Quest (NES)
HE’S SO SLOW!!!

Dark Castle (Genesis/Mega Drive)
Awful controls.

The Amazing Spider-Man (GB)
Bad controls, crappy music and sound effects, Spider-Man looks weird too.
