Original Post

Hey Gang, I was talking to my friend and realized that there are symbols for everything for instance

πŸ™‚ means happy
πŸ™ sad
πŸ˜€ cheezy laugh
XD Just kidding

Well why not a symbol that we can call our own. So I was thinking what about a symbol for the VB

BK means the VB

the B means the viewfinder of the VB
K is the bottom of the viewfinder and the top of the stand.

I know it looks like a plug in for Burger King but other than that what do you think.

|B}-< That's what I consider VB.

If it needs one it should only be 2 chars long, IMO.
B< would be fine I think.

I agree with HT about 2 chars. But I still like it to have the K to make the negative space shape. I like that better
BK but everyone is allowed their own opinion.

兄, 央.

Of course, the actual meanings are completely different.

How about >θ? (That second character is the Greek letter Theta)

You get the two characters, which look like a sideways “V” and a symmetric “B” in the proper order of “VB” itself. Depending on the font that one uses, the picture can look more close to a little symmetrical Virtual Boy unit.

I like that last one Ben I think it works well. Also aside I like HorvatM’s one too but It may mean something completely differant. As he stated. BTW Horvat what does 央 mean anyway? if It doesn’t mean anything too bad it may be the winner;).

Or

>8

The point seems a little more central than using a B.
(edit: but now I see it in this post font not so, oh well, its quite central in Word using Times or Ariel font)

I think it needs to be simple and quick to type using standard chars, just IMHO

I would happily just write “VB”, but if there was an actual emoticon for the VB, I’d go for this:

B<

B<

According to http://www.mandarintools.com/chardict

兄: elder brother
央: center, conclude, run out; beg

I really like the second one. But to run out or beg just does’nt fit what we are trying to do here. So I’m back to Ben Stevens idea of making the symbol mean VB >θ I just want to take it a step further and make it color as suggested by The Force. I think color was a great idea >θ πŸ™‚
