Too bad you don’t sell individually, I’d like Jack Bros (the box at least) and the Blockbuster Case…
Hm, I don’t think Nintendo would sell the rights or allow us to officially produce cartridges :/
I don’t have AIM installed anymore, do you have ICQ?
The new scans are not up yet, we are still waiting for the scans of the box sides… Which pages are not opening for you? They SHOULD all open normally but looks like there’s a problem with the menu @_@;
We’ve got nice scans, but only of the front and back and we are still waiting for the scans of the sides to upload them. They’re 736×742 pixels`and 96 dpi, would that be enough?
Once you’ve done it, it would be cool to hear back from you how well it worked. I have been thinking of making Blox boxes the same way, you know… 😀
Yeah, Nintendo has patented VB cartridges, have a look in our Patents section, there are several for the carts… But, why not make and sell them Hong Kong Pirate Underground Style? 😉
It would be cool if you could visit our chat room so we can all talk about it.
Let’s continue talking about the selfmade carts thing in this topic:
<http://web34.webbox239.server-home.net/pvb/forum/read.php?f=6&i=38&t=38>
We thought about producing a small number of Blox Cartridges, maybe even with boxes and manuals. If you have the possibilities to massproduce carts, I am VERY interested 😀
It would indeed rock, but at the moment it seems that Mario VB will become reality in the near future… having lifes suck ;/
Well, but Blox for example could be put on cart as well 🙂
Yeppa, have a look here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/gccvb
It has still not been released to the public although it has been in the works for soo long, some people have been using beta versions for like a year already… Stuff like an installer still have to be added, but since there has been no work on it for very long afaik, I think I should talk to the people behind it to finally get it released…
Well… new interesting quotes: Yesterday, Japan’s Mainichi Shimbun newspaper asked Mr. Iwata “The ‘new product of a different nature’ that will be unveiled this Spring — what kind of game is it?”, and he answered “Game creation has in various ways, met a deadlock, over the past twenty years, games have followed a straight path in development that have made them more complex and good looking. This law of growth and success is no more. Put frankly, games have stopped selling. We want to offer to customers a play experience that they’ve never had before. We’re not expecting everyone to cheer following the announcement. It’s okay if ten percent of the people say the product is ‘interesting’ and word spreads with people finding themselves wanting to try it.” Continuing on the specific nature of the product, Iwata stated: “We want to make a game that returns to the point that anyone can play it. However, our company does not support a product that combines software and hardware into one. The product uses a platform, but it does not fit into the specifications of the current hardware platforms.”
aka ^_^;;;;;;;;;;;;,
Wow, great work! Gotta update the Utils section soon 😀
Yep. I also have an unfinished VB Playing Guide (showing different ways and positions to play) lying on my HDD, which has been there for years ~_~ Maybe I can put it on the site soon(?)
/me is playing Halo (Xbox), Super Metroid (SNES) & Flashback (SNES) at the moment.
Btw, Day of the Tentacle ROCKS!!
Done. And your old pre-account posts are now linked to your account and counted as well 😀
Poahaha, I can’t believe it, this must be THE find since “Ninntenndo” xDDDDDD
Want me to play around with PHPmyAdmin and change your username to Ayce?
Not all reviews on GameFaqs are crap, at least the reviews of Brian Hodges – who wrote the on above – are pretty good. I am even thinking about asking for permission to post his reviews and thos of others on the site as “reader reviews”…
I will also write my own Insmouse review sometime and of other games like Wario Land, if I just had the time and motivation to sit down and do it… ~__~
If you are not a collector and just want to play it, DON’T buy it, simply because of the price. Here a review of Insmouse btw:
<http://www.gamefaqs.com/portable/vboy/review/R53027.html>
I recently got Insmouse No Yakata and bought a US Pre-Production Prototype Virtual Boy, which will hopefully be here in a few weeks 😀
EDIT: Proto arrived last week \^_^/

Since there weren’t any backup units or such for the VB, you have to build a reprogrammable cartridge yourself. What you have to do is basically opening one of your games (Best choice would be a game with save ram like Teleroboxer, G. Pinball or Wario. Since you’ll destroy the game, better take Teleroboxer ;), and replacing the ROM chip with 2 sockets for Flash Chips. Project:VB has excellent building instructions. This will require some soldering skills and several hours of time, and you’ll also need an Eprom writer to write the roms to the flash chips.
BTW, who were those people talking about playing the homebrewn stuff on a real VB? Are there really other people than us few freaks doing it? 😀
