Hello Everyone first I want to say thank you for all of your Prayers, thoughts, and wishes. My stay in the hospital was not fun but it’s over now and I’m home at last.

RetroNintendoNerd: thank you for your thoughts and love.

Well I think I covered everyone thank you so much for caring and

GOD BLESS PLANET VIRTUAL BOY!

I’m so glad to hear you’re doing better now and that you didn’t need the surgery. All jokes aside, I would PAY my doctors to put me to sleep with a GameBoy or 3DS lol

Congrats on finishing year 12! I love how your school gave the option for the jacket like this and I love your choice of nickname on it too 😉

Oh no! I hope he gets well and recovers soon! Stay strong, the two of you. Sending my love and positive thoughts. <3

That was another quality review, and as always I look forward to the next one. Space Squash is a very cool game.

Thanks! That was actually my first time playing it. I’ve had it for a while but never gave it a try until now. I was pleasantly surprised at how much fun it was. It’s a game I see myself going back to.

Imagine it had a first-person view and 2 player connectivity! *dreams*

How funny would it be if Nintendo planned it all along and you just beat them to it XD

As I suspected, there are unused sound effects and even unused music in Virtual Lab.

At 537EC there is an array of 25 words pointing to all(?) sound effects and music tracks. The second one is the intro music, so modifying that one is the most convenient way to hear them all.

More details hopefully later.

You went to work quickly on that unused content! I wish these were added to the game. It would have made it a little better lol. That last melody is pretty catchy.

I have also considered fixing Virtual Lab. I even asked Benjamin Stevens (the only other person who likes it, heh) for ideas a few years ago. But since the code is such a mess, it might be easier to just remake it from scratch (community project, anyone?).

I would still like to figure out the music format because I actually like the music and there is some data in the ROM that I don’t know the meaning of, so it’s possible that it’s unused music.

As for the review, I laughed at your comment about the price.

Oh a ground up remake of V-lab would be fun (if I knew the first thing about making a game lol)

Haha glad you liked my comment on the price. I mean considering the prices on the game I think selling your child to afford it may still not be enough lol

It would be amazing to see such a project happen, but modify it to be similar to Dr. Mario?

That would be neat! Would we then just need to stack the Mu of similar “color” on top of one another? How would it work?

I’m crazy good at Dr. Mario. I actually like to playing the PAL game in an NTSC console because it runs faster. I also hacked it to make it even faster.

No idea how difficult Virtual Lab would be to change (more). The code is kind of messy and stuff. Also depend on what needs to be done. Is there something besides the controls that needs fixing?

You’re a glutton for punishment! I beat it once on slow…with help from a Game Genie that put me on the last few levels lol

As far as game effecting issues, the controls are a little wonky and the Medium speed is actually the High speed.

Issues that don’t effect the game that could be I wish could get a polish are the audio/sound effects. I also remember reading that supposedly level 100 doesn’t display the level number correctly. I never made it far enough to see level 100 for myself though.

I actually wanted to say that virtual lab does have potential. Just a typo. However, it will never be as good as Dr. Mario because Dr. Mario is the best game ever made.

Fix might be possible.

Ah ok, I wasn’t sure if it was a typo or not. Dr. Mario the best game? Those are fighting words to me jk 😛 The best game ever made is The Adventures of Lolo lol

Thunderstruck, how difficult would a fix for it be considering it’s been said to be a coding mess?

Seeing a remastered version would be nice, Dreammary. I would definitely spend more time on V-lab if it was made a little more playable.

I’m excited to see how it turns out 😀

The comic made it sound like an awesome game but the actual gameplay looked like the worst game on VB.

I agree. I loved the comic for it and the design of the “Mu” were adorable in it. It had a lot of potential if it had just a LITTLE more time I think.

It’s a shame the controls are so bad. The game does’t have potential.

The controls took me a while to kind of adjust to. I think it had some potential. I could see it being as good as Dr. Mario if it had a little more polish on it.

I…actually don’t mind v lab at all. Yeah it’s painfully clear that it was rushed, but it’s a game I can sink some time in. Just gotta get past those laggy controls, which can definitely be frustrating. Plus that dancing girl on the side just makes me lol.

Nothing wrong with enjoying V-Lab. I love plenty of games people consider crap lol. Lisa was the best part of the game. I laughed at her boobs bouncing around for no reason and her artwork was cute.

Do Virtual Lab please!

Guess which game is this week’s topic 😉

I even got the help of some other YouTubers with a couple parts that needed “voice acting.” The series has more fans than I thought (that aren’t heavily into the VB like us anyway). I’m waiting on the one person to send me their audio and I can finish up the video.

I’m excited to see how this turns out! If this is something we could replicate with your blessing, I’d love to try to give it a go.

Oh man it’s lookin sweet! The enclosure really ties it all together

Yeah the reason why I got it and was stoked was that I bought it for about $100 new in box and everything about two years ago. Some people don’t like the game, and go as far as to say that it’s the worst VB game. I really disagree, in my opinion its one of the best. The replayablity was insanely high for me, just so I could get Ending A lol. So yeah, if you can get a decent deal on it I would definitely recommend picking it up.

Funny you say that. It was the last game I needed for my collection and I got it last week CIB. One of the awesome members here (pinmagic) sold me their copy and I’ve eagerly been waiting until it’s turn to be reviewed comes up 😀

So I’ve made a few posts in the past of asking people how to get ending A on Insmouse No Yakata. Well, I FINALLY got it!
If you want to see how this ending goes, I made a full playthrough here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Lxk9137ZlU

On a side note, I also made a complete playthrough for Bound High as well, and put it on the same YouTube channel. I’m going to try to make a playthrough for all of the games. It might take me years to finish it all, because I’m pretty busy as of late. But when I get vacation time, I’ll dedicate it to this cause.

This is one of the few VB games I’ve yet to try. It was cool seeing the “true” ending!

I have watched them all and will continue to do so! The world needs more VB exposure!

Thanks for the support! This series is the most fun I’ve had making videos since I did my Link Cable & Hyper Fighting video. The VB is where my heart is. 🙂
