So it looks like these will be happening sooner than later! Good news for those of us who missed out on the furrtek order 🙂

@Mobiusstriptech

After months of waiting, I finally have the test #VirtualTap flex cables. Assuming these test out well, I will be ramping up for the full batch. Of course both VGA and RGB will be available. These will be available for both DIY and install. No ETA on availability yet.

I am already vey excited for news to come about your project, RetroDan!

It’s at least eighteen months out. Got a lot of irons in the fire.

Time for me to fire up the DeLorean! xD

I’m also working on a modified VirtualTap (thus far dubbed the VirtualTap 2.0) with a few secret features, one of which should absolutely blow people’s minds.

This is so exciting! I am still bummed I missed out on the original VirtualTap’s but I am glad others are keeping it alive for future purchase 🙂

Look forward to hearing more about the additional features you are looking to implement as well!!

Looks like Mobius Strip Tech is making some progress on future Virtual Tap kits!

Per his twitter:

I have samples on order for prototype #VirtualTap kits. Basically trying to make sure the FFC connector and cables are actually correct. #ColecoRGB testing is proceeding. Tweaks will be made accordingly. Hopefully I will be ordering a nice big batch soon. #NoCutMod?

Awesome news, hope to see more updates soon! 🙂

Thanks brumbie. I have already been in contact with mobius (figured I would see if anyone else was already making them. Last I checked mobius was having issues sourcing ribbons for the project. I will check in with him again in a month or so!

Since these are no longer being offered by the creator has anyone else started manufacturing these kits? I would still love to pick one up!

I’d probably be in for a stand. I already bought one of the eye replacement shades. It does a good job but they didn’t make them to OEM size. The ends that meet toward the nose area almost touch which means your nose is inevitably going to rub on it.

Looks like someone’s making new ones — I’m okay with that; those things always seem to be missing.

It appears hyperkin is the company making these
