Great work! Thanks!! 😀

Here’s my super classy solution!

😀 That was my solution prior to the box, too! 😉

one could’ve purchased a new Super Nintendo and received a free Virtual Boy.

Would definitively do that right away! 😀

Thanks for sharing ideas!

I made a box (from thin cardboard) to hold my loose cartridges- painted red and black, of course! I plan to make a new one from thin (1/4″) plywood soon.

That box looks pretty similar to what I made for my Game Boy cartridges back then! 😀 I was also considering painting the VB Box, let’s see!

The OP’s balsa box would look extra cool if it had wood slots for each individual game. Maybe out of cut tongue depressors (popsicle sticks) or some other super-thin simple wood.

That’s a good idea, will probably try something out – I left a bit of extra space, so thin wood could still be used…

Ouch, TheForce81, get well soon! And not only because we need your soldering skills! ;-p

Acoustic modem? ;-p

I guess it used a proprietary cable for the cell phone connection, as I found it should not be generally connectable to all cell phones, but in particular to Motorola:

I’ve always seen these warnings more on the level of “don’t read at dim light or you wil ruin your vision” – dubios at best and more likely completely unfounded. There seems to be no solid evidence that 3D is harmful for eye development:

I guess that these company recommendations are purely artificial to prevent any chance of lawsuits against them. However, kids should anyway not spend the entire day sitting in front of a virtual boy (or other consoles) for various other reasons! 😉

Just as update: Thanks to TheForce81 my display are now back to perfect conditions! 😀

Thanks both of you for the quick confirmation! I also would definitively like a permanent fix. Though I’m generally not afraid by soldering stuff, I think here I would leave that to the experts! 😉 Will contact TheForce81 then.

I certainly will continue for better times and the second quest! >:-D

The game is really great, I would give 9/10. One detail I really liked a lot and made me smile was in the water melon level when you have to catapult the small melons into the background at some places! 😎

It’s actually the first Wario Land game that I really played – I played all Mario Land titles for Game Boy/NES/SNES/NDS/3DS (only Wii I still have to put my hands on 😉 ) and enjoyed them tremendously, but never catched on to the Wario Lands. Maybe I should revisit the Game Boy versions now! 🙂

Thanks for pointing to the other threads – after reading this I’m definitely sure it is what is also described there. Since it is not really annoying in my VB in the moment, I will not dismantle it before something more serious sets in. But it is nice to know what is going on! 😀

What is still striking to me is, that it is absolutely affecting single lines and perfectly horizontal. If it is caused by dust I would have expected something less aligned…

Warm welcome from Newbie to Newbie! 🙂

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! 🙂

Where did you buy “Bound High”? eBay?
I hope not the one from eBay because that guy intentionally tried to scam someone, and we have yet to find out who he scammed.

I don’t think that I was scammed. I bought the complete package of VB + the three games together in one auction for 200€, which seemed pretty decent to me. As said, I was not even actually looking for the games that were included, so it was quite a nice “extra”…

@Benjamin Stevens:
Thanks for the additional info!

The sticker is ok for me, actually I found the exact same cartridge on the third image of Benjamin Stevens’ collection (it’s the cartridge on the lower left)! I guess this is then one of the first versions of the community release?

Mine should be an US Version, but I have no box, so don’t know any more details on it.
