Does anyone offer such repairs ??? I’m looking to get mine fixed too

If you can´t find someone here on the forums, there is a french guy, that does it commercially.

I haven´t tried his business (as I got mines fixed by member here) though.

His shop is called “otakus-store”. Expect a high price though.

Superimpressive graphics. Can´t wait to see a cart CIB!

Thank you for taking your time and writing down all that. There´s some very useful info in that for me.

more and even get it safely resting on your lower right flipper again in a short time, you could choose to use this method alone to rack up an endless amount of points over the course of a long period of playing time. The only thing you really have to worry about with this strategy is the timing of shooting out the puck when it reaches the three-fourths distance point on the flipper.

What time frame are you talking about? Hours? Days?

Another annoying thing which really really sucks is, that at some point it just keeps sending the puck EXACTLY between the flippers to the bottom. Which is the sole reason, why I lose pucks. How can I prevent that?

I was thinking how great it would be if someone much more talented than I edited one of the sprites so that it was wearing a Virtual Boy?

Why not make it a game for the VB? I wish it was available on the Lynx too…would be hell of fun playing it.

So is there some hope, that you continue working on your solution?

SPAM. I recommend removing user & post.

You can clearly see that they modified the mold from PLAYLINK to EXT.

Well, not quite. If you look at the other pictures, you see that there is no rectangle…so your theory is somewhat half-way 😉

The seller claimed it was in good condition, but when I set it up for the first time it had no display at all. It powers up, the sound comes out clearly, and I can tell things are happening (by the sounds it plays) when I push buttons on the controller, but both screens are totally blank. Needless to say, I was heartbroken!

Make a claim thru paypal. This way you get your money back and it´ll teach that fella a lesson.

Ask TheForce81 if he would do another screens repair…he used to do it, but I am not sure. I can recommend it, he did it for me and it they work perfectly again.

not at all. The bit I have is 3.5 inches long and fits nicely inside the multi-bit screwdriver in the kit.

The nice gripe on the handle is great when you’re opening and cleaning 20+ games at one time.

Looks like there is a re-worked version of the bit available. Like I said, mine doesn´t go in deep enough…

Wyndcrosser schrieb:
I’ve only ever used the “bit” one,

I wonder how you want to do that w/out modification…
I own the same bit (wrong purchase on ebay, I know), which doesn´t protrude deep enough because of the “hexagon” sized end.

And with an IKEA screwdriver it would be too thick to fit into the holes…

I would step away from recommending this thingie, since so many people here actually had troubles using it.

TheForce81 is your man. He is doing repairs on displays for a small fee. I had him do mine, and haven´t had any problems since. He´s done repairs to quite a few people´s VBs here by now, you can trust him.

Contact him via PM, he´s a member here.

If anyone can ever verify that these do, in fact, hold up well even after many uses, it sure would make these screwdrivers stand out as the ones to get, when considering the quality and the price.

I am using it, and it holds up very well. So far I have taken apart my VB several times, and neither the screws nor the screwdriver have been torn or damaged so far.

I can recommend it.

Don’t drink and bid. That’s how I ended up with 250 NES “Bible Adventure” cart stickers.

Hahahahahahahhahahahahahhaaaaaaa 🙂

sometimes its amazing what collectors will pay.

nevertheless insane prices. will make think other sellers that they can do it too, thats the simple truth. and thats why I object to it, you may like it or not.

Perhaps that should be expanded so the info isn’t hidden there. I actually didn’t know the image was a link until now.

I noticed that too. Good idea to make an extra link!

It’s all proprietary stuff. I don’t know the details, but you would have to build your own hardware interface inbetween, which requires some serious electrical engineering skills…

Are you talking about an FPGA? I know of a succesful project for the Atari LYNX…they made it possible to play Atari Games via Lynx on the TV. Of course with some modification – in this case with a custom ribbon cable and an FPGA board afaik.

hmmm…interesting. Aren´t you scared that it will tip over when you move your body a bit during gameplay, or is that position on your chest stable enough?

I always use the “standard” position. But I´m tempted to try your approach 😉

I recommend it! The trick is to use the legs to prop the system up so that it rests on your forehead, not your nose. Extended comfort! 😀

Don´t know exactly what you mean by “prop the system up”…how can it rest on my forehead?

Can you post a pic?
