Your duty is to protect the city along the gulf coast by shooting down missiles that come flying from the back of the screen. Enjoy an unprecedented sense of play with the double cursor system, where you control 2 cursors at the same time with both the left and right control pads. Move a cursor to a missile and intercept it! Miss, and the city will take damage.

No, this is nowhere to be found currently on Planet VB.

It would be very great if you would make a thread and post pics of the Virtual Boy information found in it on this site. I myself am very excited to see what all kind of financial data it has on the Virtual Boy.

You’re welcome, guys. This is quite fun for me, and I now have some time in my life to work on these, so I hope to keep them coming somewhat steadily, as time permits.

Just to clarify, the Mutoh and Hase mentioned in the article as real wrestlers appearing in the game must refer to these New Japan Pro-Wrestlers:

Keiji Mutoh

Hiroshi Hase

Ever notice how the back of the PB box, refers to the Dracula boss as Count Dracu-“Doom” but in the actual game his name is Count Dracu-“boom”?

Interesting. So the open question would be: Was it a last minute change of name by the developers, or just a typo on the back of the box? Since the “Doom” name appears on the commercially released box, I guess I’d have to lean towards the typo answer. Even if that’s the case, though, it could still show that the “Doom” name was discussed as a possibility among the developers.

The first Virtual Boy game to land on The Hit Chart of Marushō Super Famicom Magazine was “Mario Clash” (マリオクラッシュ) in 1995’s Volume 12 issue.

The Marukatsu Attack Card page containing an image of the Virtual Boy appears not only in 1995’s Volume 12 issue but in practically every other issue of the magazine after that for the rest of that year. Nevertheless, I decided only to make a scan of the one appearing in Volume 12.

What is that article shown within the page 42 scan?

Based on what I can make out in the scan at the bottom of the page of the article within the page 42 scan, it is an article briefly mentioning the Virtual Boy, which appears in TIME magazine, January 16, 1995’s issue, beginning on page 56.

Is there any information such as magazine publisher, authors, editors, etc in the pages that we could scour Google for? If somebody from Jugemu went on to more productive magazines still around today, maybe they could be contacted. If it only ran for a year, it wouldn’t have been hard for someone involved to collect the whole series.

Actually, I’ve done some more internet searches on Jugemu Magazine in the meantime, and the October 1998 issue is now the latest issue of the magazine that I can confirm exists. Of course, for Virtual Boy purposes, issues that are a few months into the year 1996 are probably the latest ones that might have Virtual Boy coverage.

I’ve attached a scan of the page containing the names of the people who worked on Jugemu Magazine.
