Is there any difference in the instruction sheet ?

None… Literally, the only difference between the two was the mold number, the little fat squares, and the mosaic artwork on the front of the box.

I’m the seller, from my personal collection. 🙂
I hope you enjoy it, please do let me know if there are any problems as I stand by my auctions 110%. I printed the shipping label and dropped it off at the shipping center on the 17th, but UPS only picks up packages M-F @ 3PM in my small town so it went out on Monday the 19th. This delay was out of my hands, but I apologize anyway. Thanks again.

Oh, haha… Woot!

So, yeah, I was the guy who got the mosaic tap from the strange Japanese auction. Once I got the mosaic tap, and then after I did a little Snoopy dance, I went back and bought another. The second one was a regular tap, but *that’s okay* because I needed a regular one, still.

I will compare the two taps when I get home, as well as take photos for all the world to see.

I can’t wait for the Travelmaster case. I think I just peed a little.

Hi!
I recently picked up a loose copy of Virtual Bowling, pretty excited about that. My question is, I noticed that there are repros of the Virtual Bowling cart floating around, are those marked as repros?
Want to make sure that my cart is original…
Any help would appreciated, I could post a pic too if that helps.
Thanks in advance!
Grant

It’s fake. Send it to me for further verification.

Be sure not to use delivery confirmation.

I would pick up this auction but I just got the Japanese VB. The nice thing is…yea..in the pic..that’s a mosaic tap. I emailed to buy the tap separate (need it for my collection), but got no response. OH well..it’s a buy it now. Pretty good deal for what you get.

-Eric

Out of curiosity exactly how much is 1 of the mosaic taps worth and how rare is it?

Quick note : Virtual Bowling for $2k

In lighter news, I snagged a Travelmaster VB Case for a mere $150.

From the description it is all original and has not had the foam swapped or fixed or anything. I’m all kinds of excited. It looks pristine from the pictures. It should be here next Monday.

@colesonwilson
, your little “finger” demonstration just shows how stereoscopic vision works. Look at any VB game and you’ll see the same effect. It doesn’t detract from the game, it’s what the VB (and other stereo-capable systems) add to the game experience! No disrespect intended, but I seriously don’t have a clue where you came up with that…

It’s a depth of field problem. Your eyes have trained your brain to only pay attention to what is being focused upon. 3D or Virtual Reality systems all suffer from the same problem – everything is in focus. This definitely detracts from the illusion because you are not showing the brain what it is expecting to see.

For example :

Look at something up close. Everything in the background becomes doubled and out of focus. Your brain ignores it.

Look at something far away. Everything in the foreground becomes doubled and out of focus. Your brain ignores it.

Look at a foreground “3D” image using a VR or other 3D display. Everything in the background is sharply focused, but doubled. Your brain *does not ignore it* and you get a headache.

Now try looking at a background image when the system is wanting you to look in the foreground. Your head will asplode.

The only way for a TRUE 3D environment to be displayed in a way which does not cause discomfort to the viewer is for the system to be able to determine what the viewer is *actually* looking at, and adjust the display to focus on that to the detriment of the rest of the scene. If there was some sort of pupil tracking, this would be possible, but this is a Virtual Boy.

Now go buy one of my Virtual Boy T-Shirts from the mart :
http://www.planetvb.com/modules/catads/adsitem.php?ads_id=236

This is a Genuine silk screened shirt… no black ink is used in the production of this shirt. 😉 I do *not* use iron-ons. The only ink on this shirt is Wilflex Plastisol. 🙂

I spent several hours working on this logo trying to get it to look as pixel perfect as I could.

I don’t have a pic of a finished product handy, but you can rest assured it will be of very high quality. I sell a *ton* of shirts (on eBay as username “shaolinkdunk” – look me up!) so I know my stuff.

I was thinking you could take the SNES version and just turn it to the graphics of the VB. The 32X version is a 32 bit version but has less to offer compared to SNES.

Still wouldn’t work…

Think of it this way :

Hold 1 finger about 6 inches from your face. Cross your eyes and look at that finger. Notice how everything in the background is now dramatically doubled? That’s because your eyes are converging on a nearby point. Everything in the background on your VB would be similarly doubled if they wanted a realistic 3D effect, and if not then you would just get motion sick.

Virtual Boy 3D is achieved primarily through the use of parallax, whereas DOOM is a First Person Shooter which uses a different technology to accomplish its goal.

It would take a complete re-write of the game, and even then I doubt the system has the power needed to pull it off.

Buuuuuut even if you could pull it off you would never be happy with the result.

In order for 3D to really look correct the system would need to be able to adjust the focus based on what your eyes were looking at. If the game consisted of you staring directly at the center of the screen then there would be no problem, but the second you tried to look at something in the corner of the screen the entire image would totally distort and look confusing. That’s one of the main downfalls of the system.

Hahaha somebody snapped that one right up!

A boxed Virtual Boy with 5 games…

Hmmmmmm… those games… is that what I think it is… ?

I had my eye on the taps for a while, but I don’t like that he’s opened it and retaped.
I also wondered why I really wanted 10 taps, it just seemed a poor spend so I put it towards a new game instead.

Its also notthe original tape that nintendo used.

He says right in the auction that the opened box is just a sample, and that the one you will get is unopened.

I’m throwin’ about $40 at it, in the USA.

If I win I will scan and post.

You are confused on a few things.

Heat causes heat stroke. It doesn’t matter if it came from conduction, convection, or radiation.

Radiation is merely the expression of electrons from a ponderable mass. If you hold your hand over a candle you are feeling radiant heat. If you hold your hand over a light bulb you are feeling radiant heat. If you hold your hand over a heating coil you are feeling radiant heat.

Infrared radiation isn’t going to kill you, either… Just about everything in the universe radiates infrared radiation if it is at room temperature. You must be thinking of ultraviolet, which is on the opposite end of the visible spectrum.

Microwave ovens are pefectly safe. ??? You know that curious screen you see built into the door of your microwave? That’s a variant of a Farraday cage. The wavelength of microwave radiation is too high to fit through the gaps in the cage so it is reflected back into your food. You could staple your nutsack to the top of the microwave and cook a Thanksgiving turkey in it for an hour and not even a single chromosome would notice. It’d still hurt, though.

You simply will not find a heater on the market which warms you from the inside out.

I have replaced all of the portable heaters in my home and office with Infrared Quartz Tube heaters, and I am a (former) fluid dynamics engineer.

Many excuse thanks, is but this a Sega Gameboy Advance SP and the mario game? It has not a stand because you hold hands in it.

Hopes is help! ^_^

So are you suggesting that this would not be the best time to tell everyone about how I found a rare VB prototype “Halo: Reach” cartridge in the back of a flea market stall?

You seem to be all for people shareing their protos, why don’t you share yours.

Oooooooohhhhhh SNAP!

I’m guessing it’s a private listing for new and unopened games. Why people need to go through eBay though…

People go through eBay because it offers them Seller and Buyer protection. It has saved my butt on several occasions.

I’m almost done with recreating this file. I’m doing it in Corel so it will be perfectly scalable.
