Congrats Johnny!

Since we’re on the subject, I would like to say that I would definately provide any scan of what I have to anyone that would want it, but then I don’t know how helpful that really is since I am more of a gamer than collector and I mostly just have carts (though they are all in great condition). And my library consists of only 8 of the US games.

I satisfy my collecting needs with insects. 😀

I was looking at the same auction on Ebay, and had the exact same thought. I’m pretty sure I could create a good label to replace the torn one on the cart, but like 113Mhz said – someone will have to provide a high res scan of an intact one for me to be able to reproduce it. This is on the top of my list of games to get too.

I would be interested in seeing a more detailed tutorial, some day I may have to try repairing my VB – the more instructions out there = the better.

It would also be great if you could do a video of the process. But I understand that might be asking a little much.

Whatever you do, there’s already some great information in your post. Good work.

Congrats!

I really enjoy both Red Alarm and Galactic Pinball, and would add those to your list of must-have-games.

Glad to help out, and I’ll let my wife know that all her hard work was appreciated.

Reminds me a little of Super Glove Ball for the SNES.

Congrats Magus! I hope it works for you once you get the rest of it!

I wanted to say first that I really like the updates you’ve been giving to the site, especially some of the cosmetic changes.

That said, I just wanted to state (if you weren’t already aware) that some of the functionality is lost a little when using the Internet Explorer browser – the most noticeable effects being in the side menu of the site. The site is still usable (and awesome as always) but navigation becomes a little harder.

The only other thing I’ve noticed – the sound byte (Red Alarm) at the site’s entrance doesn’t play. I never realized there was one, until I visited using Firefox.

Like I said, you may already know of this and this might be a useless post.

You know, Flickr accounts are free. 😛

But I could send him some “FlickrMail” on your behalf if you would really like me to.

Maybe you’d have better luck trying to contact him through Flickr?

Are the batteries in the VB carts the same batteries that are in the NES/SNES/N64 carts?

On a “cool” factor, I would choose the Virtual Boy. As with pretty much everyone on this site – I love the system and no matter how much I play, I’m still engrossed in it’s uniqueness.

If I could only own one though, it would have to be the Game Boy. It was the first system I owned as a kid, and there’s a lot of good memories tied into playing it.

Happy New Year!

I would say that it’s completely up to you.

I realize it’s just a bit DogP and that it won’t work on all the screws for the the VB, just pointing out a good site and a good place to buy one. And I figured if anyone was wanting to open the VB, they could use your suggestion of modifying a bit like this with a slit in it for a flat head screwdriver.

@Heliowalton
– I like the looks of that bit, thanks for the info!

You can buy a relatively cheap security bit at the online site – Nintendo Repair Shop.

I agree. Virtual League Baseball is awful, worst Virtual Boy game I own. (I don’t have Waterworld…. yet)

Thanks DogP. It’s kind of annoying when you can’t erase the save data on a game. I may try one of your methods, I was more interested in finding out if there was some method of doing it in the software and you’ve answered that for me. I couldn’t find any literature on it, but I know that some Nintendo games have some hard to find bizzare button combos that are needed to erase data. I knew someone here would be able to tell me what I needed to know, thanks again!

RunnerPack –
I transfer my GameBoy Camera picks using a MadCatz Camera Link cable and the software that came with it. This was the only commercially made transfer cable for the GB Camera and PC. I wasn’t smart enough to buy one back in the hay-day of the GB Camera and had to spend a couple of years hunting before finally getting one. The JPEG format was a mistake (it was late when I edited the photos together), I normally keep them as BMPs since the images are so small.

Coincidentally, I can see the 3-D effect easily either way but I prefer the “wall-eyed” view over crossing my eyes; for whatever reason it feels more natural for my eyes to do it that way. I know some people have a hard time with it and there are some that have a hard time doing either. My wife for some reason can’t get her eyes to make it happen using either method. She also can’t stand to play the VB because it hurts her eyes to look in the machine. I can’t help but wonder if there is a connection there…
