I am really stunned this has appeared on a random Tuesday.
Zero Racers looks good, like another Red Alarm but faster with less to draw – but Dragon Hopper (or should I say D-Hopper which side note is a really stupid name choice given the slang meaning) looks amazing. I am really looking forward to playing that as much as I was Bound High! Just seeing the short snippet above what scans we previously had is very exciting in itself. It looks a ton of fun.
Fingers crossed we can get actual carts of these, and not just load them up on the flashcarts.
Can’t believe Nintendo actually announced and will probably release this before Vintex were able to…
Well, I didn’t count on seeing those labelled PCBs. Can’t see any ROMs on there though so they could just be a stock of ‘blank’ boards right now that are not flashed because the ROM is not forthcoming, right? This is how it feels to me anyway.
Yeah I’ve also given up on this one. Sounds like someone spun them a tale and they’ve taken the bait without seeing anything at all. Maybe one day that will change but I don’t believe anything will come of this one now.
Yeah I also missed that stipulation at first – but sadly it is mandatory. I do wonder if the Labo VR kit will work as is.
Because all it is at the end of the day is running VB games in 2D side by side and using lenses like an Oculus VR.
I’ve pre-ordered both sets, and already have the full membership, but I’m not expecting great things from this and it will never be a replacement. I have a Meta Quest 3 too and haven’t yet tried VB emulators on that, but I don’t ever expect that to be a replacement for Virtual Boy games on real hardware.
Virtual Boy is an amazing system – owning one gets better year after year I feel. It really has become a luxury toy!
Is this real life?
I can’t believe they’re even creating a mini VB and even the cardboard model, I just love it!
Let’s all be prepared for VB prices in general to continue to climb even higher than they already are…
I don’t think you’ll be required to have the accessory to play – it’ll just be what they use to try and recreate the 3D aspect. No reason it shouldn’t work fine without that in docked or handheld mode.

Brilliant thank you – I still haven’t set it up properly, may come back to you for some tips!
There are others too I found while browsing – one is even red and black (but without the red screen). Could probably swap the parts if you’re dedicated!
I agree with dudeway that the sensationalist title might give a few heart palpitations.
I edited to better reflect the mystery.

I missed out on the timing, hopefully they’ll make more carts, or at least re-release the ROM at some point.
I am not sure if these were already shared, but I really, really like the Virtual Boy game cases offered here:
https://www.customgamecases.com/online-store/VB-c50469280

They even have a homebrew section, which is handy for some of the more expensive CIB titles if you just want to play the cart etc.
These were originally developed as a Kickstarter, and they offered a full collection of the US / JP library as a bulk option.
I’ve asked the team there if they would add that again, it would be great to see a full library of these on the shelf with custom artwork.

I would love to see this as a complete release, JP version.
The US version seems really expensive now so would be a good seller I’d have thought.
This is one I never picked up CIB, as I only wanted the JP boxes and it seemed weird having just one US box on the shelf.
Nonetheless I should have picked up a loose cart, I don’t remember it being anywhere near that expensive 10 years ago!

Thank for snapping and sharing – I am one of those people that really like the aesthetics of these boxes, and I was able to collect quite a few of the smaller (20 units) shippers for some of these Japanese games.
If you go back, do you think it’s whin scope to ask the store if they will consider selling some of the bigger empty shipper boxes? I’d be interested in the T&E Games, plus The Kemco shipper box if this is a conversation you can have?
If a deal is realistic, I’d be happy to get you a box for yourself for example, if you were able to help arrange something.
Either that or commission. Please DM me if you’re open to it anyway. I’m also in the PVB Discord under the same name 🙂
Did anyone save any pics of the listing?
Did anyone here win it? I missed a chance to get one of these and the unit from Krisse many, many years ago!
I remember you well Lester – I’m truly sorry to read this course of events, that is extreme and I hope with some help from your siblings rather than hindrance things can improve. You’ve encouraged me to plug my VB back in after all these years.
I got my book yesterday too – first thoughts are – I definitely didn’t need to buy this, but I don’t regret it because it’ll look nice on the Shelf and I’m happy to support Mr Parrish’s efforts.
Limited Run used a really poor shipping service so the book arrived dog eared on the corner and that’s the second time I’ve had an issue with them. I will never buy a single thing from Limited Run Games again.
Information is pretty basic and there’s a real missed opportunity at not including more than a glimpse into the homebrew efforts. Projects like Mario Kart are mentioned but it just leaves you wanting to know more. Might have been better to just not include any homebrew efforts because it draws attention to the scant info that is included.
3D glasses images don’t work so that was also a let down. I mean, they work technically, but this doesn’t suit VB screenshots at all, it’s a pretty pointless inclusion.
I am just very, very glad I did not opt for the Collector version.
On top of that noticed some mistakes that should have been picked up on edit.
So I couldn’t recommend this book, but I’ll keep it on the shelf in case visitors ask me what the system / games are like.
Wish it could have been a better review. The book is presented in nice quality, page layout could have been better but it’s presentable enough and on par with some of HG101’s books, just in a bigger hardback format I suppose.
I received a shipping update just today, it shipped out from the States yesterday in fact. So looks like others’ should also be on their way today / or soon at least.

I bought it, but it’s not yet arrived to post a review. I could’ve sworn I read at point of order that they were complete, printed, in stock and ready to go out the door – has anyone else received theirs yet?
Not a typical listing of sorts – but would love to see this go to someone on the forums given it’s a one of a kind from a known celebrity:
Have met Nathan at E3 before – solid guy but I am not affiliated with this in any way, to confirm.
