yes sonic wings is also high in my favrits but i love pulstar thats my number one shmup for neo geo

now waiting on my LAst Blade jap / Kabuki Klash jap / World Heroes 2 euro / Fire Suplex jap for the AES to arive

I like Pulstar as well, but something about the back to the basics model Sonic Wings follows that I just really enjoy. I prefer it to the R-type “modular item” model. Plus in the NeoGeo CD version they gave it a cool drum and bass soundtrack which has grown on me.

Oh man, Last blade is a sweet game too, really a well presented fighter

Wow, this is very exciting! I can’t wait to play with this on Christmas morning =P

I believe Runnerpack on this forum does VB display repairs, I’d try contacting him.

Nice! I love Sonic Wings. I remember playing the second one in the arcade years ago. I think one of my favorite Neo Geo shooters.

I knew about that but i’ve also hear that its worse than modding. You could cause more damage to the system/disc that way instead of modding.

Oh yeah? I guess I shan’t be doing that then. Just got my Saturn back up and running last night, don’t want to screw it up.

I wanted to mod my Saturn too, but I like keeping my systems pure and original. Sigh…but, its either mod it or buy 2 different region systems and a lot of games for an ok console.

What about the disc swap thing? I haven’t tried it myself but I heard its a thing.

I have a modchipped Saturn, bwahahaha. The only limitation is my internet connection.

I’m not gonna lie, I have burned NeoGeo CD games and I plan to burn some Saturn ones when it’s up and running again. That said, it’s nice to own the originals of the games that aren’t tons of money.

As for recent pickups, I just ordered a NES Everdrive yesterday. Been wanting one for a while, pretty stoked to get it.

3 Sega Saturn games (disc only) Daytona USA, Virtual Cop, and Virtual Fighter 2. They were all the “Not For Resale” versions.

Ahh yes, the good ol’ 3 pack set ($189 value for free!!!). I just bought the package since I needed two of the games. No idea how people are selling these new in the plastic wrap still, I thought they just came with the Sega Saturns.
Unfortunately my Sega Saturn power supply decided to bite the dust before I even got to play them. I’m putting in a pico psu to replace it, way easier than trying to find a Saturn PSU. Just waiting for my 9V voltage regulator to tone down the 12V rail to the Saturn’s 9V, once that arrives I can finally play these games =D
Stoked to play Daytona USA and Virtua Fighter 2, haven’t played them since I was a kid.

This is pretty darn cool. I like the idea of homebrew on the 3DS, lots of possibilities with the 3D screen. Honestly though, while I would definitely try VB on the 3DS, I would still prefer to play on the actual system.

I mean, I kept my old Xperia Play to use as a little emulator machine, yet I still always end up playing my games on the original hardware.

Although it is nice to bring home console games with me when I actually do travel, would be nice to bring some VB games along too.

That’s awesome! Represent!

Nice video. I really hope to get one of these one day. One day…

This is an incredibly hard choice. I usually wouldn’t pick just one console, I like pretty much all of them. But if I really had to choose, I’d vote for NES. SNES was an incredibly close runner up, bringing us such masterpieces as Earthbound, Final Fantasy 3, Yoshi’s Island…I could really go on and on, there’s a ton of amazing games for it. But in the end, the console I started with and grew up with, the one I remember most playing with both of my brothers, the one that has some of the best video game music ever (something about those 8 bit tunes). The NES just can’t be topped for me. It was my first, and me and my brothers enjoyed the crap out of that thing.

I had to try this with Chalvo 55 =P

I had to tweak the colors a bit for it to look right, so I guess here’s the password for Chalvo 55:

They’re out there somewhere..Here’s to hoping!

Doesn’t Sweden use 240 volt mains? If so, the Saturn is only compatible with 100 Volt Japan Mains (North American 120V might be ok). In order to use it there without exploding it again you’ll need a step down converter.

How the Twin Famicom works is beyond me, as a quick Google tells me it’s also rated for 100 Volts input.

The magic wand tool is the best invention ever lol. Be sure to post some of the artwork you make 🙂

Do’h! I forgot all about the magic wand tool. Shows you how rusty I am at Photoshop. The only thing I’ve used it for in years is making HDR photographs. I do vaaaguely remember computer class in school in 2003 where we learned traditional Photoshop techniques (Remember Photoshop version 7? =P)

I’ll definitely post what I come up with.

Hey that looks good. I might have to download the .psd and play around with it, try out some backgrounds and logos =P

Let me know if this one will work, I tried to keep the background simple for cutting out.

Ok I’ll post the picture here once it’s done.

That’s a cool idea.
