I know this was posted a while ago, but unfortunately, this is why I’m working on the idea. I didn’t have the proper skills to save my displays.

So I’m considering making a new version of the displays, because there are TINY (as in, 4 times smaller than a grain of rice) LEDs on the market! https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/sunled/XZMDR155W/1497-1296-1-ND/5848473

I have a good plan laid out, partly thanks to Furrtek:

The only thing I need to know in making these displays is what kind of logic ICs it can use, and how to implement it. At the moment, I only have an individual LED activator circuit all planned out, thanks to Furrtek. (which is what all those boxes are on the full schematic.) It’s quite nice and more simple than I realized. All it does is complete the light circuit with a transistor [Think of it as an electrically-controlled door with three legs. Two side legs are the in/out, the middle is the door that opens and closes, letting electricity through depending on whether electricity is applied.]

I won’t be making these myself by hand. That’s too hard and too risky, with the size of the small components, even though they’re bigger than the originals.

The rest, which has to do with focusing optics, I will need major help with, because I have no experience in that.

By the way, here was my attempt at soldering the cable to the display:

I just went to go see Real Steel!
I officially dub it “Teleroboxer: The Movie” 😉

In fact, Real Steel makes me want to go get Teleroboxer even more! 😀

Maybe I could offer my services as a graphics designer for the label? 😀

No. When I mean regulation circuitry, it has no circuitry to control the synchronization of the mirror with the flashing of the LEDs. The reflected display wobbles because of the varying speed of the mirror.

Darn you, already-made topic!

@HollowedEmpire

Yup! I got everything as a set. The only thing it’s missing is the full manual book. (I don’t think that was included with any Blockbuster set, though.)

I’ve had my Virtual Boy for exactly a month now. I was slightly apprehensive when I heard all the stuff that people said about the Virtual Boy, but I was relieved when most of its bad points were actually wrong.

Mine was from Blockbuster, with the hardcase, battery pack, AC adapter, and 6 games:

*Mario’s Tennis
*Vertical Force
*Golf
*Virtual League Baseball
*Jack Bros
*Waterworld

The case and all 6 of the games had sitckers on them in one way or another. (4 had price stickers, Mario’s Tennis had a “Please Rewind/Purchase if this sticker is broken” sticker on it, and VLB had two small silver “Purchase if sticker broken” stickers on it

When I started playing the games, I felt like I was actually back in 1995, renting the Virtual Boy for the first time.

I’ve started editing the articles on there. 😀

Actually, it was more like a hundred. It was in 2008 that 100 “brand-new” unopened and unused Nintendo Virtual Boys were found in Dubai.

Ooooh! >D That would be cool! 😀

But I still appreciate the redness of the Virtual Boy. Connect it to an Apple IIe and see how that works. 8D

You, sir, have just recommended the next Virtual Boy game I should get. 😀

I already covered that in the VB SN Inventory. As for the cartridges I got with the case, I ain’t selling them cause they have BB price stickers on them.

Whoops, didn’t know how the admin settings worked. Fixed it.

Sorry about that! I fixed it. 😀

Whew, at least I know now that it mostly wasn’t my fault. 😀

Unfortunately, it seems the plastic part of the VB stand has developed a crack that’s only completely visible when you force the metal legs open to set it up. 😯 I’m not sure if that’s normal for the VB or not. (Getting off topic, I know.)

That precaution music sounds so sad! (I heard it on the real hardware before I looked at it here, though)

Well then again, it IS technically a prototype… >.>;
