Actually, now that I look at the image more, I can, in fact, see both the face of a dog when I look at it a certain way, with big ears on the left and right, or the image of an ape, with big arms on the left and right. When it’s the dog, the black spot in the center is its nose, and when it’s the ape, the black spot is its mouth. Weird…

Heh… I guess “Lucky” must have reference to Planet of the Apes. Given your programming knowledge, can you make a conjecture as to why Mr. Anon may have put “Lucky” in there? Could he have been some sort of template character that may have saved time in the making of each character?

I think my character looks pretty close to what I submitted as screenshots for him of me, which are attached. The third one is what I should look like when I lose a match, but I’ve yet to see it, as I never lose! Ha ha ha!!!

Yeah, it’s really great when your partner understands your video game hobby, and you don’t have to hide it. Even though my current girlfriend doesn’t play video games at all, I feel like I can talk about them whenever, especially Virtual Boy, and she at least tries to show interest. I couldn’t ever do that with just about everyone else I’ve dated.

VBユーザーの年齢層は低いと思われるので、SFCより少ない連鎖でもイベントが見られるようにしました。これでイベントを見る機会が多くなると思います。演出といえば、マップ画面やオープニングのデモシーンは紙芝居方式ではなくてモデリングツールを使って作るのでスゴクなる予定です。ちなみに、新敵キャラはVBの背景の闇のイメージでミッドナイトボンバーズにしたわけです。
Since the age group of VB users seems to be low, we made it possible to see events even with fewer chains than on the SFC. I think that with this, there will be more opportunities to see the events. Speaking of the presentation, the map screen and the opening demo scene are going to be amazing, as they are made using a modeling tool rather than a picture-story style system. By the way, we made the new enemy characters “Midnight” Bombers, each having an image of darkness, like the VB’s background.

立体でしかできないゲーム性をということで高低差のある2つのラインを持たせた縦スクロールシューティングだ。
画面の構成をわかりやすく説明すると下図のようになる。自機上のラインと下のラインを自在に移動でき、障害物の回避はこのライン移動でする。一定条件で登場する仲間のAIキャラももちろんライン移動するぞ。敵も同じでライン移動で襲ってきたりする。
This is a vertically scrolling shooter that has two different altitude levels, a high one and a low one, which can only be done in a three-dimensional game.
The screen’s composition is explained in an easy-to-understand manner, as shown below. Your ship can move freely between the high and low altitude levels and can also avoid obstacles by moving between these. Of course, your fellow AI characters, which appear under certain conditions, also move between the altitude levels. The enemies also attack by similarly changing their altitudes.

立体ということで、3D視点のシューティングも企画に出てはいたんですが…。同じようなゲームがほかにも出る可能性が強いということで、ハドソンの得意な縦スクロールでいこう、ということになったんです。
一見シンプルですが、2ラインあるので最初は操作感に戸惑うくらい変化があります。ボスキャラは、やはり立体であることを強調したデザインのものを用意しています。
We were originally planning out a shooter with a 3D, that is, three-dimensional, perspective. However, it was said that there was a strong possibility that other similar games would come out, so we decided to go with a vertical scroller, Hudson’s specialty.
Although it looks simple at first glance, since there are 2 altitude levels, it may be somewhat confusing at first, as there have been changes made to the feeling of operation. As for the boss characters, we have prepared their designs so as to emphasize that it’s still a three-dimensional game.
