I was asking a composer i regularly work with about working with the virtualboy. The company ‘Eighting’ had a game in production / preproduction for the VirtualBoy.
Does your source know what kind of game it was going to be? What genre it would have been in?

That looks like a poster (flyer). I do not think that is a box image of any kind.
Yeah, given that the auction shows a flyer and a loose Virtual Boy unit, while saying that the product is new and that the pictures are of the actual items, it is hard to trust anything about the auction at all.

I thought I’d post some better pics of the 2 Virtual Boy-related sculptures I made a while back- one is Dorin from Dragon Hopper and the chainsaw-fish from VBWL. I made ’em 1-2 years ago from Sculpey.I want to make some more VB-related sculptures but I can’t decide what to make- does anyone have any suggestions?
Those look great! Well done. 🙂
As a suggestion for a new sculpture, in keeping with the unreleased game motif, how about making a sculpture of one of the cute characters from the unreleased “Virtual Bomberman” game, so a sculpture of either Deebo, Rick, or Nyanjirou:

Thanks for this contribution 🙂
You’re welcome. 🙂
As with all of the released games, you’ll find its manual on the “Manuals” tab, when you click on the game’s name under GAMES > Released Games:

As for the ROM, I suggest using this site:

How might I go about acquiring a FlashBoy+ ?In the midst of getting my VB’s eye-glue repaired and I’m curious if this is still going on or all wrapped up?
Thank you!
Send Richard an e-mail at the address he has posted in the first link of this thread:

Ask him if he is making them right now and if the price is still the same.

He even has 2 copies of Bowling, but waaaaaaaay too overpriced. I was thinking more around 1000/1400 USD…
Actually, I’m pretty sure they listed the same copy twice. If one of them sells, it will just be said that the other one is out of stock if somebody tries to purchase it before the auction gets taken down.

Sadly, I am rather confident that this Tokyo Toy Factory seller on eBay is the same Tokyo Toy Factor seller whom you contacted on Amazon Japan. I find it rather hard to believe that they didn’t have the complete-in-box copy of Virtual Bowling listed on Amazon Japan at the lower asking price such a short time ago, but all of a sudden they now have a complete-in-box copy for a much higher asking price:
In any case, if you want to spend way more money for it than anybody else ever, here’s your chance!
I bet one of the main reasons why they chose to use a VB part was because they knew they wouldn’t even have to ask Nintendo for permission to use it. They also probably figured that nobody would ever recognize it, but such has been proven wrong now. 🙂

Unfortunately, the displays failing in any form is only avoidable or preventable if you get your displays soldered before the issue arises in the first place. Otherwise, your displays will eventually show some sort of glitchy problem, due to the fact that simply glue was used to hold the cables to the PCBs.
It is possible to delay the inevitable, but not avoid it. When you are not using your Virtual Boy, it is recommended that you turn the IPD dial located on top of the Virtual Boy all the way to the left (as counterclockwise as it can go). This will put the least amount of strain on the cables, which are nevertheless going to separate from the PCBs inside the Virtual Boy someday, if you don’t get them soldered to stay in place permanently.
There is actually an Ebay seller now, who offers the solder-fix service for what looks like a reasonable price:
Whether you wait until the display problem arises or not, you can get your displays soldered, so that you won’t ever have to worry about the display problem either in the first place or else ever again.
