Hey Dor-Si,
That seller, Tokyo Toy Factory, has actually been selling minty mint copies of SD Gundam Dimension War for quite some time. I believe this is either the 5th or 6th copy that I have seen them list on Ebay. The first copies started out at lower starting prices, and the more that each copy sits on Ebay without being sold, the more that the price for that particular copy drops over time. Then, when a listed copy sells, they list a new minty mint copy at a higher starting price than the previous copy, and its price will drop slowly over time if there are no buyers.
My guess is that this store actually has an original factory box of SD Gundam Dimension War games (a real gold mine these days), and they just keep selling one copy from it at a time. It makes sense that this store would have one or more of these factory boxes since they are a very large toy store located right in Tokyo and would have been a primary buyer of Virtual Boy games back when they originally hit the market. One never knows when Tokyo Toy Factory will list their last copy of SD Gundam, though. This one could very well be the last one, or there could be several more yet to come.
If they do have a factory box of these, maybe they will be willing to sell it to someone once the last copy goes from it, or maybe they’d be willing to sell the factory box now.
It is very nice to be able to listen to some music from this game. I am definitely looking forward to seeing more videos of this game and hearing more music from this game, which will hopefully be posted online sometime down the road.
I sure wish that an owner of Zero Racers or Dragon Hopper or some other unreleased Virtual Boy game would post videos of the game online, even grainy videos for that matter. To me, something is much better than nothing. I would probably pay one hundred dollars just to watch someone else play through Dragon Hopper, etc., even if I myself could never play the game.
Dor-Si and/or mawa,
Is there a particular site online where one can buy one of these display cases? I have got to get myself one of these someday.
Thanks. This one is a real toughy to find, so I’m glad I don’t have to search for it anymore. Nevertheless, you never know when some Japanese seller might throw it on Ebay at a price close to that of a normal Japanese version, not knowing just how rare these things are, so keep up the search. 🙂
250 euros
So if a game originally came in shrink wrap and the shrink wrap is removed, VGA won’t grade it? Is that correct? If so, I am curious to know if VGA will grade the “sealed” Virtual Boy games from Mexico, which had the slit put in the shrink wrap for the insertion of Spanish instructions. If so, does that slit automatically guarantee a lower rating?
Hey foil_lone_wolf!
Looks like you caught the collector bug, too! Trust me, it won’t go away for a while, if ever. Researchers are still looking for a cure for it. Hopefully they’ll never find one. 🙂
You should be very happy with the condition-quality of the games when they arrive. Somehow, tokyotoyfactory actually had a few copies of both of those major rare ones, and from what I know, each copy was and is as mint as they come.
Wow, look at those key rings glisten! Very nice! 🙂
The rest of the world uses periods where we use commas and uses commas where we use periods. Thus, he truly wanted to say 9000 Euros.
I can see his future feedback from Mawa now:

Okay. That is pretty amusing, but if you don’t say that you retract your bid, Mawa might hold you to that. 😉
Let me get this auction started off. First of all, I am assuming that the following is correct:
1. All bids must be placed in Euros.
2. The shipping charges which appear here: http://www.planetvb.com/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?post_id=19652#forumpost19652
will be added to the winning bidder’s highest bid for the final purchase price
Am I right about this Mawa?
1st Bid:
100 Euros
I must say that I greatly appreciate this. The comic is certainly very well made, and what a nice reference to the Virtual Boy as well. It really is sad to hear that Nintendo Power is coming to an end, even though the only issues I really want to keep are the ones with the Virtual Boy in them. 😉

I think these points need to be communicated by someone literate in Japanese and English (Ben?), otherwise the finer details will be lost in translation.
Well, when it comes to translating Japanese into English using the various methods that I use, I think I can do so pretty well, but when it comes to translating English into Japanese, I would have no idea how the end result would look to a person fluent in Japanese. I would just pretty much type each English sentence into Google translator and maybe I could rearrange some characters if I could tell that Google translate did it wrong, but I still would have no idea if it would be in the right form in Japanese. I do remember other people on here saying that they knew Japanese speakers in the past. Perhaps those Japanese-speakers could be contacted if such would be necessary.
Just to clarify a couple of things.
Richard himself was the first person to post of the fact that Bound High was on Ebay.
Also, one doesn’t have to visit Ebay to know that Bound High has been posted there. All one has to do is save “Virtual Boy Bound High” as a search in one’s Ebay account and Ebay will send an e-mail if any item with such description comes up.
First off… wow… just wow… I thought that this day would never come. I have hoped that it would for a while, but I never actually thought that it would. I am nearly speechless…
Sorry to add to the long list of questions, Mr. G, but in addition to the question about posting video online, I was wondering about the music. You said that music plays at the very beginning of the game and that different music plays when the happy face character starts to rush straight to the left, if I understood you correctly. My question is: will you be posting sound recordings of this music online? I would so love to hear this music!
Hey Mawa,
I think you need to have some sort of auction for the Galactic Pinball demo version. Multiple people are probably going to want it, so perhaps it should go to the highest bidder.

Shame. It’s okay, though, because in about 4 days the name of the buyer will be available through eBay’s API, at which point we can figure out who bought it and then just tell them they could have gotten it for free here, and also implore them to return it for a full refund.
If they file a NAD dispute with Paypal the seller will have *no choice* but to take the item back, no matter what caveats or warnings skillz boy put in the listing.
Teach that joker a lesson.
That is most excellent. I am definitely all for sticking it to 83Skillz, especially given all the lies and distortions contained in his listing, which were deliberate attempts to deceive those who aren’t familiar with Planet Virtual Boy.

… And from the last picture can anybody tell me some info about it there are virtual boy games in this magazine.
Here is the Japanese information in digital format:
第17回
CSG

出展ソフトリスト
Here is what I am pretty sure it says:
The 17th
CSG
New Release Presentation
Software Products Listing
I’m not sure what “CSG” stands for though.
Yep. It’s been determined that User 83Skillz on this site is the culprit:

Thanks to him, Richard probably won’t be making reproduction carts of any commercial games anymore.
Anyone should feel free to send tons of hate mail 83Skillz’s way.
