This Post will probably be deleted/edited so read while you can.

So yeah, ofcourse you shouldn’t download these roms. Besides being illegal, the source is very VERY old and have been protected for many years. Agreements were made, deals were done etc. Oh and not to mention they are not yours.

Lets take a step back and look at some very important points.
There is a world of unreleased “items” for the Virtual Boy. They exist and you will now almost certainly not come to know their name let alone ever play them. Ever.

The VB inner circle is very tight, the people who are in it already know who leaked these and why. Now anything that is held even by 1 person will be held even tighter.

Your host here has had many of these roms, and the “Mr Anonymous” is actually, well no lets not spoil that. But the host and Mr Anon are very good friends.

Mr Anonymous who is good friends/source of this site is a brilliant scam artist. Many Fake burnt eproms, labels, auctions, photos even.
But wait he had bound high.. he had xx. Oh yes he did, but only 1 which is long gone. All that remain are copies, and many of them.

I wouldn’t be surprised that the real vr of Bound High will leak next. That is in so many peoples hands right now. But really Bound High is like finding a hidden truck load of US Mario Tennis Pack in carts compared to what is still in existence.

I don’t blame any of you who download it, I would myself if I didn’t have them. It’s the way/people who let them out went about it.

Now I feel like an ass, if someone would have let me know half of what I know now they never would have been released, I thought people were just holding on to these to be assholes, I also should not have deceived everyone by saying they were my dumps I knew as soon as they were released that DogP was gonna know they weren’t mine, but what would you do if someone gave you the roms with the intention of you releasing them, knowing that there are alot of people wanting to play them that will never be able to, I will leave it up to someone else to release Bound High

Well listening to this dramatic post you should know that releasing Bound High won’t change anything because the damage is already made. If you have the rom, release it because there seem to be already fake copies going around.

Lol really, this is ridiculous. So the master of virtual boy legacy is not going to release anything anymore because these roms were released. So tellme how he would release anything when its exaclty what he doesnt want.

Depending on how much muscle/fat you got on chest you might want to use something to hold back the metal from hurting you after longer sessions 😉

I don’t know if its good for the turning mirrors, but as long as you dont move it shouldnt be that bad.

Here’s one of me playing 😀

here some crosseye red and black

I use a european S/NES adapter on my japanese Virtual Boy. They are the same.

Playing this game stoned is awesome. Another dimension 😀

/me wants virtual autocad, for my sleepless architecture-student nights.

No, that would be just simple paralax scroll. Im talking about that special scroll that you can also do with HiBias (the water surfaces, etc… in the DKC backrounds)

Affine is nice and all, but hbias and vbias should be much faster to make some simple 3d worlds (look at DonkeyKong Country backrounds, imagin that in both directions). I actually found a demo for something like that, but it didnt have source code, and it was for some browser java stuff.

Another retarded Bruno question:
Is there anyway to do HiBias on objects? And would there be any way to do hibias mode not only on the x axis but also on the y axis.

One thing I was wondering is how often and how fast you can change backroung maps. Can you change a BGmap every frame?

Are you using floating points on you mario kart? And how many matrix do you need to convert a plain sprite into perspective? Ah and how big can the circuit be? Cause there is a size limit on bgmaps, or do you use more worlds for the circuit.

Oh sorry DogP. I meant Reality Boy, no Red Dragon. Yes I was talking about the paralax, the affine world appears with different viewpoints so its 3D, but the kart appears to be kinda floating or so. It should have the same paralax offset distance as the floor where the tires are touching it. I suppose this is because of the emulator, and if not I suppose it will be very easy to change that paralax because the kart always at the same distance from the viewpoint (so its just a constant value). Anyaw, awesome work. I hope you will make the source code available once you release your work and/or the constest finishes.

Btw, does the VB have enogh power to do a lot of affine transformations? Because if it has it, it would be awesome to have a track made of 32×32 sprites deformed so you can use them as polygons. You could even make a tombraider game like that, with a lot of blocks making a textured 3d world.

[edit] having a closer look at the 3d effect (I use crossing my eyes with RB) it looks like the track comes nearer from far away but suddenly at the high of toads top of the head it start going further way again. Lol, very strange and maybe its just the emulator.

[Edit 2] Ok, it was kinda my fault. I had to swap the displays because I was seeing the image for the right eye with the left eye and so on. So now I see it alright toad appears to be under the track (when you are on the sand you can tell). So he just needs to have to pop out a little bit more 😀 (if this is not just the emulators fault)

Supernice, you should add a lot of offtrack spirtes like trees, etc… so you get a better speed feeling. I tried it on the Red Dragon and it worked fine (just some screen flicker sometimes). Btw, you should put the player at the same high as the floor where the kart touches not at the head like its atm. Im shure you already know that but that was something I thought you should fix. Anyway, super awesome 😀

Nice work, someday I will do this to my VB when it fails.

When the VB First came out I played it at a SEARS department store. I was totally blown away and thought holy crap this is the future of gaming!!! I begged and pleaded for one but my Dad was like no it’s too expensive you have to much crap as it is. Well then when the Super Nintendo came out I was like… Virtual what? The wha… huh who cares SUPER NINTENDO YAY!!! So besides all the BS rumors about it hurting you and all that junk, it was the poor marketing skills that killed it. I mean think about it. When the SNES came out it shrouded everything else on the market. Nothing and I mean nothing could touch the SNES not even any other Nintendo product. It was poor timing. Damn imagine what we would have today if it would have been a success. Well… I still think it was a success but I mean in the corporate eye. -sigh- 🙁

You tried the Virtual Boy before the Super Nintendo came out? And Donkey Kong Country was its first game, right?

Has your mother seen you playing? Im 21 years old, but my mother once saw me playing that thing and she told me that I was like “addicted” and that “these things” make you crazy, etc… Just because it’s red, makes noise, and you actually have to look inside it.

Isn’t that sound from Red Alarm?

I think the no$gba debugger has got a good debugger, but its not for free. Maybe you can ask him. But he seems to be a little “strange” at least what I read on his internet page. Btw he is german.

As for the PC-link cable, I would like to try out that OpenGL – Virtual Boy thing. And a doom version whichs connects to a vr32.de server would be awesome too 😉

I dont remember if it was on the spanish or the german ebay, but like 5 months ago there were like 10-20 baseball games (complete and unused i think) for BUY NOW and like 4€.
