It’s getting closer and closer to complete. 🙂 I only have a small hand full left before I have bought all the games on R Zone that interested me.
That was fascinating to read, and gave me a lot of information that I wasn’t aware of. Thank you for clearing up things for us.
I could definitely do that. On awesome news I just won Mortal Kombat 3 and Daytona USA! This has been a R Zone collectors week of success!
List of R-Zone games that I own:
Area 51 (sealed)
Panzer Dragoon
Daytona USA
Mortal Kombat 3
Jedi Adventure (1 sealed with sealed XPG handheld, and 1 loose)
Millennium Falcon Challenge
Battle Arena Toshinden
Primal Rage
Batman Forever
Indy 500
I just bought Panzer Dragoon for $14.99! 😀
I almost won a copy of Panzer Dragoon but I once again got beat out out on bidding. Hopefully one day I will win a reasonably priced copy. 🙂

people have been able to resize games before to make them work on flash carts, like star ocean on snes theres a hack that resizes it to fit on an everdrive. theres other hacks like that too.the curiousity thing is like saying theres no point in playing wario on vb because there are games of his in color. the vboy has a charm of its own and it would be great to be able too play this gem.
Not the same thing at all because VB Wario Land is a completely different game and is absolutely fantastic.
The game would have to be substantially lessened as its twice as big as what a FlashBoy+ can hold. Also being fully released would not really matter beyond just curiosity as we can play full color versions on other consoles. Maybe one day a large capacity version of FlashBoy will be made?
Even if it was fully released, we would only be able to emulate it because its too large of a file; Flashboy+ cannot contain its extremely large file size. Besides emulating it would be no better then just playing the already available other versions that are in color. But I have tried the demo version of my Flashboy+ and its quite impressive even in demo version.
I really don’t see the point as that’s a lot of sprites, and sound effects to be changed out; enough to the point that just doesn’t seem worth the effort at all to convert it into a new game. We’re talking custom songs, sound effects and new sprites for multilevel area backgrounds, characters with several movements and such. Not to mention all the sprites need to be created twice to create the parallax effect, it’s probably 2 years of conversion time because we are talking very small development teams.
I mean, I could be wrong but I am seriously doubting that anyone wants to spend all that time to create a second game from the already built one that took several years to complete.
I mean I was sent this demonstration image of the game a very long time ago.

Honestly it could have been done from the beginning. lol, but hindsight is 20/20.
Well I have seen that speedyink has posted a review on YouTube of a complete copy of the game through UncleTusker and VectrexRoli2 has posted pictures on his Facebook page.
It will never be officially released to us though, but maybe one day someone will make a non copyrighted fighter for Virtual Boy?

Oh dang, that’s a great price especially since it has the dust cover.
I honestly cannot value games on R-Zone because it’s really up to the what a buyer would pay.
That being said I would personally be willing to pay $8-12 depending on if it includes the protective dust cover sleeve. I only have 1 loose cartridge with the dust cover, I guess every kid lost them?
I wish I could buy a copy; there are so many games but I really want to own them all or at least try to.
I found evidence of VR Troopers, but still others are unconfirmed as of yet.

Yes and it frustrates me as I always wanted to buy a sealed head unit to display next to my sealed XPG. I actually really like collecting R Zone but it’s getting really really difficult as supplies have really gotten Scarse.
I have suspicions towards many of them ending up in the trash by parents tossing the “toys” of their children. They may be actually rarer then I ever assumed previously.
Good and yes, it’s getting a lot harder to actually find a good functioning one for a decent price.
I see a lot of broken ones that are missing the reflector mirror and/or battery cover… The ones missing the mirror are almost useless unless you have a fried one that is useful for spare parts.
I’d hope a seller wouldn’t be that dishonest, if so then that’s really saddening.
That’s ridiculous, I’d be rather upset with the seller. The worst part is collecting R-Zone has gotten rather trendy in the video game world, so it’s getting harder and harder to win good consoles and games. :/
